A wonderful camp experience where the staff made us feel so wonderful and the other guests were great too. Taffy ensured everything went smoothly and our guide, Albert, has years of experience and made the most amazing finds. Saw an amazing assortment of animals to long to list, including 4 of the big 5.

Accommodations are somewhat rustic, but comfortable. Nice wood stoves in the tents for cold nights and hot coffee delivered at wake up. Food was amazing and varied.

Hats off to African Bush Camps for having a strong program (see also review on Linyanti Bush Camp).

I still remember the exciting cold morning game drives, the magnificent sunsets, the phenomenal spirit of the staff and, of course, the animals. Four of us stayed here about 10 days ago as part of a longer safari that included a few other ABC lodges as well. We loved them all but the spirit and friendliness at Somalisa cannot be beat. Elephants (and buffalo and antelope and others) would often graze at the waterhole right next to the deck....you can just sit there and have an armchair safari and take photo after photo after photo. They were so close! Guide Calvet, who even took us for a walking safari which was just fascinating, and hostess Pindhee were terrific...definitely want to return!.

The hospitality of African Bush Camps is second to none. We had the most incredible trip staying at both the new camp, Nyamatusi Mahogany in Mana Pools National Park and Somalisa in Hwange National Park. At Somalisa, the camp was exquisite. We could not believe how beautiful the tents were and the main lodge area. Albert was our guide and we enjoyed every minute with him. He indulged our endless questions with a great sense of humor and had fantastic stories and insights to share, along with a truly incredible understanding of nature, history and the geopolitics. We loved our host, Sydney, who was so sweet and very fun, along with the rest of the staff, who made us feel at home. We had fantastic meals, and we especially enjoyed the “make your own pizza” using the pizza oven and the traditional African food night. Somalisa is in a great location, and we were able to see so many animals, including lions, buffalo and elephants, from the comfort of our tent and the main camp in Somalisa! I would encourage EVERYONE to visit Zimbabwe and stay with ABC!

What an amazing experience we had on our first visit to Zimbabwe! Our stay at Somalisa Camp was beyond our greatest expectations! The entire staff was so warm, friendly, courteous, and helpful with all our questions and requests! Our guide, Bee, was wonderful - so knowledgeable and patient ! He made sure we were able to see such a variety of wildlife and beautiful scenery ! The sunsets were absolutely breathtaking!
Every meal served was five star - so delicious! Not to mention the beautiful setting for all our meals!
All the staff made us feel as if we were part of the family - such dear new friends we made there with them all! We hope to return to this beautiful area again soon, and bring our children and grandchildren to experience this amazing land of beautiful people and wildlife!
From our home in Louisiana, USA , to your home there at Somalisa, we thank you for such a memorable trip!
Highly recommend visiting Somalisa Camp for an amazing adventure that you will never forget!

Room tip: The tents are all wonderful - very comfortable with all the necessities!
