This is a fantastic hotel!! After an 8 hour drive from Harare we were welcomed brilliantly at this hotel. The rooms are beautiful and spot less. The view from our room was of the waterhole so we got to see so many animals. The staff are so helpful and made us feel very welcome. I wouldnt hesitate to go back to this hotel tmrw!!
Me and a friend stayed at this lodge for one night in Mid April as it was included in our Vic falls package.
The lodge (alltough the place and rooms were clean and the staff friendly) had a feel of deterioration and desolation. We were virtually the only guests staying there.
Best part of our stay there however was the 2,5hr game drive in the late afternoon. Despite the unpleasant weather conditions (it rained) we truely enjoyed it! Our guide was really determinded to make the best out of the situation and we managed to see quite a bit of wildlife.
Sadly while on our game drive I had money (100 USD) stolen from our room. When reported to management they seemed very apologetic about this incident. However we were told that this had happend before though not recently. We also had the local police involved (an experience on its own) but the money was gone.
On our check out we were asked to pay USD 20 for a bottle of average local wine we had with dinner the night before. This dispite the fact , we were told by our waiter that food and drinks are included in our half board rate. Strangely enough, while the a la carte menu had prices listed the wine list didn't. We went for the waiters recommendation since our choice wasn't available.
Overall, the stay in this Lodge gave our trip a rather bitter aftertaste of what otherwise would have been a really enjoyable trip to Zimbabwe and the Victoria fallls. With what we have experienced I cannot recommend a stay at this lodge.
what can i say about this place...i felt pampered well looked after in everyway. the only downside was getting there in the middle of the night because of the way the vic falls train runs but apart from that it was bliss
Beautiful scenery. Wildlife surrounds you on a daily basis, from wild boars grazing by the pool, to monkeys flying from the trees to steal sugar packets off the breakfast tables. One morning I awoke to find a giraffe poking his head through my window. Service was wonderful with safari's leaving every day. This is the perfect vacation for the adventurer.
