The accommodations at Bumani are exceptional, the large secure tents with en suite bathrooms are more canvas chalets then tents. Positioned on stilits the views out over the surrounding plains and waterholes are impressive as is the wildlife. Large herds of elephant drink at the camp each evening and lions could be heard regularly. Unlike other parts of Hwange this area is not overpopulated with lodges and camps so it is rare to see vehicles from other venues. The staff and service at Bomani was very good and we were looked after extremely well by BigBoy and the team.
Such local community involvement is not something you see regularly in Africa and it is a tribute to Mark and his team to see such a successful relationship. When you visit the schools and villages you realise the direct benefits to the local population through your stay in the camp. It makes you question how much direct action and investment into local communities the bigger national and international safari corporations make??
If you are visiting this part of Zimbabwe then you will not find a more comfortable bush expereince. You will also leave knowing the money you have spent will make a difference.More
