“A most enjoyable experience”
Reviewed April 6, 2013

The Lodge and chalets are most attractive in design and furnishings and provide most comfortable accommodation. The setting is appealing and service is excellent. Our party of four found no fault, were cared for outstandingly, and experienced a most enjoyable five day stay.

Our party of eight recently stayed at Nehimba Lodge for three nights and the experience was beyond our expectations. The owners, management and staff, each and every one, were simply wonderful. The lodge and grounds were beautiful. Well appointed, luxurious and very comfortable. It was truly an oasis. The game drives were so fun. Our guide, Tinie (I hope I spelled that correctly) was funny and knowledgeable. He explained everything to us, from different animal, bird and plant species - to the star constellations. Very educational. We were afforded fantastic animal viewing, and did a few walking safaris, which were both exhilarating and frightening! Above and beyond all of this, we were treated to a picnic at the dam, and a surprise dusk "happy hour" with appetizers and drinks set up along a watering hole. My daughter, age 11, formed a delightful friendship with Sarah, the manager. It is a very family friendly place and our every wish was accomodated. The entire experience was first class and we felt like royalty. We will never forget it... the thoughtfulness of the staff and guides is so much appreciated. I am hopeful that I can someday return and visit Nehimba again.

Room Tip: We stayed in the "family room" with a king bed and two twin beds. the layout was perfect...

Just had two nights at this fabulous safari lodge in the heart of Hwange Game Park. The staff were so welcoming and made us feel special. Our room was spacious, comfortable with a fantastic view ,especially enjoyed the outside shower. Loved sitting by the fire at night, under the milky way listening to the Giant Eagle Owl.

As a seasoned Zimbabwean traveller, I can highly recommend Nehimba to anyone, from the warm greeting of the staff upon arrival, the game drives to the excellent food. The meals were some of the best I had in two weeks at various different facilities throughout the country. The rooms are so well appointed and comfortable with an appropriate 'African' feel. The lounge area is very comfortable and the prices reasonable.

Nehimba has a lovely pool which you may have to share with elephants in the dry season! A really good place to just chill out or enjoy the game drives and bird watching.

Well done to the Nehimba team.

Myself and a couple of colleagues spent a great weekend at Nehimba - the accommodation, food and of course the safari trips were amazing. It's a really luxurious setting and Martin, Sky and the staff were all brilliant. Being rescued on our way out of Hwange when our hire car got stuck in the mud was a real bonus and really appreciated!! Would love to come back again.

We recently visited Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe and also traveled for Safari to Hwange National Park, which is just 2 hours drive from Victoria Falls town. This was an amazing experience. We chose the Nehimba Lodge because heard from people that this is most luxurious lodge in Hwange NP. We were very happy to come to this small private and very cosy lodge in the wilderness. Elephants greeted us from the waterhole, which is just in front of the lodge. Chelets are new and very cosy with full bathroom and private terrace for observing the waterhole and what is even more amazing with outside shower just under the sky. We were also surprised to find in this remote lodge freshly made salads everyday and fresh fruits, which we enjoy normally for breakfast. It was hot in a park, but our chalet with thatched roof provided for us a comfortable temperature even without air-conditioner. Also the swimming pool we used a lot to cool down in African heat. An unforgettable experience for us. We will definetely be back in a future to Hwange.

Upon our arrival my wife and I knew we were in for a special treat at Nehimba. We were greeted by the staff with refreshments and given a tour of the lounge, bar, dining area, and swimming pool while our luggage was placed in our lodge. Our suite was extremely well appointed with one of the most comfortable beds I have slept. The suite was spacious and clean.

The view from our room was excellent and we were able to observe several different species of animals each morning.

Each day we went on game drives and walks. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the flora and fauna of the area. Nehimba is a private area in Hwange, you will see few other people.

The meals were well prepared and the staff attentive. They were excited about winning the "Best Lodge" in Zimbabwe in 2012 from the Safari Operators Association.

We truly enjoyed our time there.
