I have been a guest at Bernique several times in the past with friends from Europe. This latest visit was with my husband and 2 Canadian friends. Each of us was delighted with the warm welcome extended by Beryl at our end of day arrival. After our refreshing, homebrewed drink we were shown to our respective rooms.
I was pleased to see many improvements since my last visit some 8 years ago. All rooms are now airconditioned and have ceiling fans (ceilings have been raised to give an airy, roomy feel to rooms) and hot water is available. Welcome change from Mahe where we had been facing excrutiating heat and daily water cuts.
Breakfast is offered and is inclusive of fresh fruits, juices, eggs, toast and homemade local fruit jams.
Beryl and Sylvannia will see to your every need. 3 of us were unfortunately ill during our stay and they provided us with rehydration salts along with advice on how to improve our condition.
Beryl organised a day of boating excursions to nearby islands & made it convenient by allowing us to pay all fees directly through her. She will recommend restaurants on La Digue and give you vouchers so you have no need to carry money out with you.
Unlike many small guesthouses, your room is cleaned daily and every detail to make your stay enjoyable is attended to.
Delightful hostesses, comfortable, clean accommodations promise to make your stay memorable and have you return or recommend Bernique Guest House to fellow travellers.
5 star guesthouse all the way!
