“Too crowded”
Reviewed April 9, 2013 via mobile

This is not the beach I remember from 20 years ago.... Spent a day here on a daytrip from Praslin, but found it to be overcrowded - struggled to get a private spot to sit. Also it had shallow water with lots of sea-grass and coral so you can't swim. And you have to pay to get there! There are definitely better beaches on La Digue or Praslin. Even with all the hotels built right on Anse Volbert on Praslin, we enjoyed this beach much more, and it was much less crowded!

“Go to Source d'argent but don't buy at L'Union Estate!”
Reviewed April 8, 2013 via mobile

Everybody who wants to visit La Digue's Anse Source d'argent has to enter the beach via L' Union Estate Farm- an old farm and copra/Coconut Mill- and has to pay entrance fee. That is Ok. At this place a very kind Lady demonstrates how the coconuts are processed into oil and other products. At a booth she sells several products like coconut oil and spices to tourists. During our visit in March 2013 we bought coconut-oil and so called "Natural Copra-Soap" in a folkloristic package (as shown in Photo 1) as a souvenir. Back home we had to find out that this was a insolent fraud! Inside was a LUX cake of soap of which the logo was cut away (See Photo 2). It would have been very embarrassing if we had used ist as a present!!! After this experience we don't trust the other things we had purchased there anymore. It is a shame that this nice Lady has betrayed us in such way!

“Over-rated but worth the trip”
Reviewed April 5, 2013

As it is claimed to be the most photographed beach in the world, it's not worth skipping, but there are definitely nicer beaches in the Seychelles.

“Super beach”
Reviewed March 19, 2013

The most beautiful and romantic beach of the world, with several separate beaches with a fantastic view on Praslin and Mahe.

“not worth it”
Reviewed February 10, 2013

Quite dissapointed, the place didn't meet expectations at all. Shallow, corrals, sad looking. Anse Lazio on Praslin and Grand anse on La Digue are much better though the latter has some strong currents.
