On a way to beach Anse Cocos, which was the best beach on island, discovered Chez Jules place. First sight to the place may be a bit weird as chickens and dogs are running around on the tables but :) you get the best octopus salad and best grilled fish!! Biked there and back every day (8 km) to enjoy his food.

Along our cycle route we found this little oasis on the side of the road with a wonderful view of the ocean. Simple road side restaurant with wooden benches on the road side under shaded trees, with a large tortoise and some chickens to keep you company. Jules is friendly and helpful with advice on what to order. Small menu, reasonable prices for the Seychelles and tasty food & fresh fruit juices. Jules prepared calamari to my husband’s preference, and I enjoyed a delicious fish/tuna curry; and we both enjoyed a refreshing fresh lemon juice. Definitely worth a visit.

We stopped here while taking refuge from a tropical rainstorm. Initially, we had just intended to have a drink and the fruit juices were wonderful. As the rain showed no sign of stopping, we decided to stay for lunch. We shared the best fish curry we'd had in The Seychelles (and we sampled quite a few.) Jules is clearly passionate about his fish and explained how he created the texture of crisp vegetables and soft fish in his curry. We only wish we could remember his recipe!

Recommended for dinner by the Management of Le Repaire Hotel as the best Creole food on the Island, and they were right. The Chef is a wonderful host, no frills just great food. We sat at a large table on the porch with the Ocean across the road and the food starts coming, and coming. The best Octopus we've had, tender and tasty, along with 5 other dishes, its a set menu and it is just as it should be, reasonably priced and worth the trip. Enjoy!!
