We stayed for 6 nights in guesthouse le filao and loved it. Patrick and Christelle are very friendly people and Christelle is probably the best cook in La Digue! The guesthouse has 2 comfortable, very clean rooms and the location is very good. It's a quiet place has a local charm. Perfect place on la Digue!

Great place to stay! La Digue is a small island so you don’t need to be too concerned about which part you stay in. However, we did feel we had the best spot :0) A small beach was just 2 minutes walk down the track, so it was nice to go and watch the sunset. La Reunion estate was down the end of the road and the jetty was just a 2 min cycle away. There were a couple of supermarkets nearby.

We loved the Guest House! There are 2 Guest Houses and they are each private so you have your own kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and dining area. They are well equipped with everything you could need, and set in quiet surroundings with the fields behind. The main 'cobbled street' is 1 minute down the track. The veranda was a nice place to have breakfast and relax at the end of the day. We were bed and breakfast, but Luisana cooked us a dinner one night, and we wish we had been half board – it was delicious!!! Luisiana is a lovely lovely person, and we were sad to say goodbye – she has good humour, and gave lots of advice about the island.

La Digue is perfect –we stayed 5 nights and now wish we had stayed longer in La Digue, and less time in Mahe. Derek brought us our bikes as soon as we arrived, and we loved putting our sandwiches in our baskets and going off exploring! Lots of beaches and interesting countryside to explore. Such a change to not hear any traffic at all. The best snorkeling was at Anse Severe up past the Jetty, but for beautiful beaches try Anse Coco and Petite Anse (just be careful of the strong water).

Make sure you go to Belle Vue – a fabulous viewpoint over the Seychelles and an impressive sunset! The Sunset Café up there is great to have a cold drink, or to enjoy some food which was very tasty! It is NOT an easy walk up there and we were lucky we took a torch for our bikes coming home – so you may want to get a taxi or better still, book a table and they will collect you. We did this the following night as they were offering a 7 course dinner with a taxi ride, and that was much more relaxing!!

Thank you for a memorable stay, we will definitely be returning!

We made island hopping Mahe, second Praslin and finally La Digue. The guest house at la Digue was the best accommodation of our Seychelles trip!

On la Digue we stayed at the Le Filao guesthouse with very comfortable nicely decorated rooms, a well equipped kitchen, bedroom with air-con and en suite bathroom, spacious relaxing veranda, including all day fresh flowers, fruits,... We got a free Creole dinner with fresh sea food and fish after arriving.

Christelle and Patrick are great host. Christelle welcomed us like a family member and helped us whatever we needed to make our stay comfortable and had lots of great tips to discover the best spots on the beautiful island. Patric is a fantastic cook and we will never forget the delicious grilled sea food he made. However, it is their friendliness that gives the guest house such a wonderful vibe.

Highlights:
+ Good breakfast and dinner served on our terrace.
+ Friendly/relaxed/warm atmosphere
+ Perfectly situated
+ Comfortable
+ Good price.

Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our week on La Digue and can recommend the Le Filao guest house. Highly recommended also for families with small kids.

Some more info:

The Le Filao guest house is nicely located between the Anse Reunion and the Reserve. Supermarkets, restaurants are within walking distance but the best and most comfortable way of getting around is by bicycle, they can be hired via Christelle for a few Euros per day. La Digue is a very laid back tropical island with happy and friendly locals. Best spots are Grand Anse, Anse Coco and make sure you visit Anse Source d’Argent (most photographed beach in the world)- this beach and the surrounding granite rocks are absolutely stunning.

PS. We would love to come back one day.
