We stayed on Desroches about 9 years ago and after staying on most of the Seychell islands we decided to go back... It has changed but for the better..
The rooms are charming with sea views and a private garden with very comfortable sun loungers... There are birds and there are lizards and crabs, they dont bother anyone and are part of island life... The Seychelles is reknown for its wildlife... The food was astonishing, no one could be bored with fresh fish.. Most of the fresh vegetables and fruit are flown in everyday and there were so many choices of creol dishes. The staff could not have been more helpful,... they would do anything to make the holiday perfect and us happy... The island was beautifully run by the management.. They were always there for a chat or to help with anything ... They did a job that cant be easy on a small island in the middle of nowhere. The spa was small but the two Balnise girls were experts and made one feel so relaxed with their massage skills... Everyone gets a bicycle and you can go off with a picnic and find a beach of your own... There was a tropical storm one day , we were on our own so we behaved like children... ( utube. The Fosters in Paradise.) We went fishing on the outer island which was a day to remember, I even got to snorkle with a Manta ray , and there were turtles everywhere I will never forget it.. We had the best holiday ever, on an island that should enchant anyone who loves nature , good food and relaxation in a setting of great beauty. We will definately go back there soon as is was very hard to leave.
