Nine lakefront property in Geneva NY. Hotel front desk is friendly, the property looks a little tired.

We stayed here because of an onsite wedding. The entire town was enjoyable and we had a relaxing weekend. The rooms were clean, linens and beds comfortable but the entire facility was dated. Small things like the TV remote was not functioning properly, light in bathroom was not working and we could not open the widows because there are no screens. Who builds a lakefront hotel with nonscreened windows? Staff was overall great, especially Tim the bartender. We went to the bar after the wedding just to have fun and listen to him. The staff made up for some of the negatives found here. Overall and enjoyable stay.

We stayed on the 9th and the 10th and paid $170 per night. Given the condition of the hotel, it's VERY overpriced for what you get. This hotel is in need of serious refreshing. We were part of a group and I would have NEVER stayed here on my own.True, it's right on Geneva Lake, but given the smallish, shabby, dirty room w/tired furnishings, we're talking max $75-$85 rooms, NOT $170. The proprietors are milking the location and letting everything else decay. We had a lake view, but the windows are small and weirdly placed (too high, small box-shape) on the wall and there were no window screens. They have laminated signs telling you not to open the windows bc bugs will come in. I think for what they're charging, they should pony up some extra cash and stick some window screens in.The bathrooms were gross (e.g. scuff marks on the walls, toilet seat markings, thriving ant colony proliferating in the bathroom door jamb). The service was fine, people friendly at the front desk, but I'm still feeling pretty sour about the price. I realize this is only a Ramada, but $170/night??? REALLY? COME ON PEOPLE, THIS GRAVY TRAIN AIN'T GONNA LAST IF YOU DON'T DO SOME REFRESHING!!! Fool me once, you won't fool me twice. I expect to be P.O.'d all over again when the credit card bill gets paid this month.

Room Tip: Ask for a lakefront room. I would never pay over $80 at this establishment unless they do some major...

Nice quiet, clean hotel. I thought the restaurant was too expensive but there are many restaurants of all prices close by. Room was comfortable and has an amazing location at the lake. I would stay here again if I was in the area.

Room Tip: Ask to look over at the lake--I looked over the parking lot but then I could see my car!

This hotel is similar to some high end places close by in that it is right on the water with beautiful views. However, this hotel had some issues. Ants for one. Not a complete infestation, but 9-10 small ones walking around in our bathroom probably means there were more in the rug we just couldnt see. Our neighbors next door had the same problem. Our room also had a slightly sour odor to it that you noticed when you first came in only. Bed was a little small (hard to believe this was a double) and sheets/blankets subpar. Room could use new paint. On the positive side, staff and check in was pleasant enough and our view from our room of Geneva lake was spectacular. However, at $180/night in this part of the country I would have expected the rooms to be much nicer.

Spent three nights at the hotel and had a great time with our family. Rooms are clean and had the softest hotel towels we've seen in a long time. Staff were all nice, but the front desk could use more training on restaurant menus and events. For around $8 adults and $5 for kids, the restaurant has a wonderful breakfast buffet each morning with a lot of variety. You won't need lunch after this buffet. We ate dinner once in the hotel and all of the meals were great (filet mignon, strip steaks, scallops and fish fry). There is a nice trail along the lake for walking. Although hotel is up north, we didn't feel like it was a hassle to drive to Watkins Glen, Corning Museum or other parks. Check out Fox Run winery. Only complaint is the pool is a joke. It is 12x12, so if you have kids they will be totally disappointed. I saw many families at the hotel, so I don't understand why they don't expand the pool area.

This hotel is run down. Old, outdated. The linen and bedding is old, the fibers are worn out. The only good thing is the hotel is on the water if you get a view. It is way over priced and no amenities included. We spent the next night at a hotel in a tourist area for 20% less and the hotel is a 4 star. Both hotels booked through hotels.com. Watch what you pay for.
