A wonderful example of historic preservation. For a small town to restore and support an historic theater is difficult but it is being done in Geneva. Italianate renaissance interior with Art Deco touches throughout (sounds strange but it works!). Live shows and movies - worth the trip!

Wish I could pick it up and move it to my hometown of Canandaigua, NY! Wonderful movies and concerts in a gorgeous old-time theatre... what could be better?

This venue is great. Sound was perfect. I just didn't enjoy having to get a wrist band upstairs to end up going downstairs to have a cocktail.

This is my third time attending a concert at Smith. The room is great! The look is very cool, the seating is comfortable and the sound is very clear. I'm not sure about the need for security pat-downs at the front door. It didn't seem to affect the amount of marijuana smuggled into the place and used during the most recent show.

What a hidden gem the Smith Opera House in Geneva is. Having lived near Geneva all my life, I tended to forget what a great venue the Smith is for concerts, plays, and movies. We have recently attended a concert by Jim Brickman and Jay Unger and found the Smith a wonderful concert hall. The building itself is well-preserved, a combination of Baroque and Art-Deco decor defines its uniqueness, and the theater size is just right, not too large and not too small. Parking is convenient and there's lots of it and there are several great restaurants all within walking distance of the theater so you can catch a dinner and then see a show. A perfect Saturday activity for friends and family. I checked the upcoming schedule and am please to see lots more concerts, new movies and plays. You can see all the performance listings at www.thesmith.org.
