A recent evening 5 of us went to the Cobblestone to celebrate the birthday of our son, a student at Hobart.
A bizarre evening started with a the zombie like hostess heading for our table before 3 of us were in the front door and none of us had our coats off. But that OK, this is upstate NY and we get used to things like that.
We ordered from an excellent menu and looked forward to our dinner. Salads were brought and I asked for ground pepper. Zombie Hostess brought it when the 'mechanicals' fell apart in a salad. 'OOps' she said and vanished.......nothing more was said by the her about the hardware filled salad.
A single hard working waitress brought us our meals which were cool. Two of us ordered NY Strip (part of resturant cooking 101) that were not even close to being medium rare. The presentation was very pretty......they just forgot about the basics.....like delivering a warm meal in a timely fashion.
Dinner, appitizersand 3 desserts, tax and tip, with no alcohol, came to $40 per person. That is on the high side in this neck of rural NY. I am unhappy with the value I received at the Cobblestone and I recommend you try someplace else.
