1907 Bragdon House Bed & Breakfast

Stayed at Bragdon House recently and must disagree with those who have posted. Found the place in dire need of refurbishing. Paint in bathroom badly peeling. Room brochure is less than welcoming, stating that one should not wear fragrance to breakfast and various warnings about dirtying their "fine" linens which were badly worn. Found the hostesses intrusive. Breakfasts were very heavy.

Just got back from a 3 night stay at Bragdon House and we have to say it was absolutely delightful! Jen and Diana are the warmest hostesses you'll ever meet, and we've been to many B&b's thru the years. The rooms were clean, the food yummy (moist muffins, Jen!) and the company engaging and genuine. Don't miss the wine tour...Jen is a not only an expert but what fun we had!! We can't recommend the Bragdon highly enough!

My husband and I have stayed in many inns overy many years and we were completely thrilled with the Bragdon House. We got in late on Friday night to find a welcoming note from Jenn (the innkeeper along with her mom Diana). We awoke to our room being bathed in a vibrant orange from the gorgeous sunrise over the lake. We stayed in the Betty and loved the room with its super soft bed and wonderful antique tub. We did the wine tour with Jenn (soooo worth the money!) and had just the best day after she loaded us up with her blueberry french toast, the best crumb cake ever and fruit. Jenn took us around Seneca lake to all of the wineries she had hand picked for wine that suited our taste. We were pleasantly surprised by how good the wines are. We had feared mostly sweet wines but there were many, many fantastic dry wines. As evidenced by the bottles and bottles we brought home! We ended the day relaxing on the verandah with wonderful pizza watching the rain come down and petting Bubba the Pug. What a cutie! We were so impressed with the tour we booked another one two days later and enjoyed Keuka lake even more than Seneca! We have never enjoyed a B&B experience like this one. Both Jenn and Diana were the best hosts ever and we were made to feel like family. The breakfast every morning was better than the one before (belgian waffles with fruit, homemade lemon poppy seed muffins, pumpkin pancakes, etc) and we loved being able to walk downtown. Halsey's is a definate must, one of the best meals we have had. We can't wait to return to enjoy the beauty, comfort and friendliness of the Bragdon House!

I went to Geneva NY for my HWS reunion- and this B&B was such a gem to find! We were virgin B&B guests, unsure of what it would be like staying in someones home; however, Jenn made us feel like we were old firends visiting for the weekend!

We woke up to the sunrise over the lake and the smell of a home cooked meal! what more could you want. Location was great, ventured off to do some wine tasting...walked downtown to the bars... It was fabulous!

My Girfriend and I decided to spend a few days in Geneva and do some hiking, wine tasting, boating, and shopping. We found the Bragdon House and heard really good things about it. It truly was a great decision. We fell in love with the setting, the house, the hospitality, the breakfasts, and the owners. Jen and Diana made us feel so at home and comfortable. They are very upbeat loving hosts and the only thing I regret is not taking Jen's wine tour that they offer, because for a dollar you can taste five wines, which can catch up to you in a hurry if your not careful! Overall we have absolutely no complaints and would definitely recomend the Bragdon House to anyone staying in Geneva for any reason!

The Bragdon House B&B was so comfortable and unique. My husband and I stayed there with 3 other couples (our friends that we traveled with) and were pleasantly surprised to find ourselves cohabitating with the perfect amount of privacy (in our suite) and shared common space (the awesome terrace for one). Sitting on the terrace, whether it be early in the morning with coffee in hand for some reflection time, or late in the evening with the glow of the laterns, candles, warm house blankets, company of friends, and a glass local wine...it was the place to be. Jen, absolutely made our stay memorable, for without her lively personality and dedication to service, oh...and her awesome breakfasts (Yummy and beautiful!)...I believe our stay could have rated average. Although the suite treats like local Java Bark (chocolate covered coffe beans) and a bottle of local wine, and other fine fun offerings added a unique special touch to the lovely atmosphere at this B&B! We also had the BEST wine tour with Jen as she drove our group around Seneca lake in a 15 passenger van, shared her favs, and helped our tipsy tushes pack our wine and get loaded for each stop, more intoxicated than the last. Oh, yeah our group of thirty-somethings had soem fun playing late-night wii bowling. Ahhhhhhh! Too much fun is not a crime...go to see Jen at the Bragdon House for a good time...hee hee!

I had never been to nor had I ever heard of Geneva, NY. I knew that I wanted to try some local wineries on the east coast, and surprise my girlfriend with a weekend away from New York City for her Christmas present in December. So I hopped on TripAdvisor and read some great reviews on Geneva and then stumbled upon the Bragdon House, right in the heart of Finger Lakes wine country, surrounded by at least 3 separate wine trails, all extremely close to the centrally located B&B. And I cannot stress enough how impressed we were when we got there.

We arrived around 2:30, and the room was already prepared for us with a bottle of wine, and cookies, in a basket in our room, and a note in the foyer welcoming us to the Bragdon House. We stayed in the Phoebe and the room was HUGE as was the bathroom (private, not shared) and very clean, looking out past the backyard, and overlooking the lake. Equipped with plenty of towels, closet space, and a TV & DVD Player, as well as WiFi access also. We were very comfortable there and had plenty of privacy. Next we walked down the road about 5 minutes and into town where we found a bunch of great restaurants (Halsey's was phenomenal as we ate there both nights), and little stores. The town is very small but very homelike and safe. We then took about a 7 minute drive down the road and passed 3 or 4 wineries & vineyards, and wound up stopping at 2 of them for tastings. We made sure to stop the tastings at 2 since we had arranged for the Wine Tour with Jennifer the next day. When we got back to the house, Jennifer was home and greeted us as if we had known her forever and were just visiting friends. She popped a bottle of white and the 3 of us relaxed on the back porch drinking some delicious local wine, and getting to know each other, and playing with Bubba the Pug. It was like reuniting with an old friend that we hadn't seen in awhile, although we had never actually met before.

The next day, we woke up to some delicious smelling breakfast, as Jennifer had prepared some blueberry french toast, fresh cinnamon buns, sausage, and a fruit cup. It was the best homemade breakfast I'd had in years. Until we ate there the next morning!

Next we took a 45 minute bikeride on the trail by Lake Geneva, which was absolutely beautiful, before hopping in the car for the Wine Tour with Jennifer. She told us a lot about the area, and literally drove us to any of the wineries that were worthwhile in the area. Sometimes she'd come in with us and explain a little bit about each place, and others she'd patiently wait in the car for us while we took our time tasting. It was one of the best experiences I can ever remember while vacationing, and we never had to worry about driving home a little tipsy. At some of the vineyards, she knew the owners or the servers, and we would get hooked up with extra tastings, which was fantastic. I cannot recommend this tour enough. We spent about 6 hours together laughing, and talking about each place- even got to stop at a brewery in the area (there are 3) and had a 7 Beer Flight at Wagner's Brewery.

The next day was just more of the same, a delicious breakfast- a vegetable quiche, crispy bacon, and homemade scones with orange marmalade... We hung out on the back porch for a little while, got to know some of the other people that were staying in the house, before hitting 2 more vineyards on the way home. We said goodbye to Jennifer, knowing that we'd be back to Bragdon House much sooner than later for our second trip upstate.

We've already recommended the B&B to everyone we encounter and hope everyone can share our tremendous experiences in our first trip to Geneva.
