“Good food”
Reviewed March 4, 2014

Food was quite good. Specials are not overpriced. Service is excellent. The only complaint is the noise level, I think because it's an old building. Have been there several times for lunch and dinner.

“Good food in Geneseo.”
Reviewed March 1, 2014 via mobile

We ate for the first time in this restaurant. It is located in a renovated old building although little of the historic charm remains. The ambience was casual and it was on the loud side with basketball on the TV. It's not a date place but where you go when you are hungry. The service was friendly and prompt. I had the jambalaya for $15.99 and I thought it was very good. My wife had the chicken french ($13.99) which was a pounded and sauteed in a light sherry lemon butter sauce. She liked it but was not wowed by it. Two side salads cost a total of $3.50 plus we did like the dressings. They have a very good selection of beers and my point cost $4.50. The total was $43.71 including tax bit not the tip. In summary is a good place for a meal and we would return. We would have rated it perhaps up to ***1/2 if we could have done that.

“Great service, food ok at best”
Reviewed February 20, 2014

Nice little tavern with a wide selection of beers, good prices, and friendly waitstaff. The homemade chips were crispy and tasty, and the Memphis Tater Tots (with barbeque sauce topped with pulled pork) weren't bad. The tilapia sandwich was flaky and satisfying, and there were no complaints with the fish fry. Stay away from the burgers though; while the various topping combinations are a nice touch, they can't mask the dense cardboard-like patty in the middle. This was a tasteless, completely unappetizing compression of ground beef. Maybe it was frozen for months too long? Or made from depressed cows? Whatever the reason, this sad puck made for joyless chewing and was the opposite of what a good burger should be.

Hi There,
Sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your burger. It sounds as though it wasn't cooked properly, please accept our apologies.
As you know from ordering, we prepare our burgers anywhere from rare to well done, and we encourage people to send them back if they're not cooked to your liking. Let us know the next time you're coming in and we'd like to prepare another for you and have you give us another try, we're pretty sure you'll be happy with our burgers.
As an aside, our burgers are never frozen - we hand press them daily and use fresh Angus Ground Beef from a local beef specialty food provider. We also try our best to not have them send us depressed cows, but we admit we don't do interviews.....
Glad you enjoyed everything else, and again, our apologies for the burger. Please try us again!!

“Firendly local atmosphere”
Reviewed February 10, 2014

I was alone so sat at the bar and had a burger and beer. They have a wide variety of beer to choose from. I selected a local one. I was near the front door so got a shot of cold air when someone went in/out.
I stopped in for some take out on a later night, got the jambalaya. All around pretty good.
