What should make a lodge different from a motel? The answer for me is everything. Exceptionally beautiful surroundings inside and out, an exceptional, caring, able, and knowledgeable, staff. A sense of comfort and grace without pretense. Minnewaska Lodge is such a place. I put up my extended family at Minnewaska Lodge for a late Thanksgiving celebration. Their ages spanned from 4 to 92 and all were more than pleased with their stay. They had a special time in a special place. I couldn't have asked for more and am grateful for for having Minnewaska Lodge in our community.

My husband and I recently stayed at Minnewaska Lodge in the Hudson Valley. What a great place! The staff was so nice, from the time we called to make the reservation until we left. The Lodge is beautiful, the room was large and very comfortable and they serve an excellent breakfast for their guests. What a nice touch. Great selection of foods and you can sit in comfortable chairs and look at the beautiful mountains.
If you ever visit the New Paltz area - please stop - you won't be sorry.

Room Tip: We had Forest View - you might want Mountain View

Beautiful place. Our room was great, with a very comfortable bed -- the only issue was that the wireless signal was very weak at our end of the building. Excellent breakfast in a comfortable lounge area. The staff was extremely helpful -- we were directed to two great hikes. And not far from New Paltz, if you're looking for funky dinner possibilities.

Love this place! A great place to unwind and take in the beautiful scenery. It's clean, cozy, and peaceful. Great hiking trails nearby. Friendly staff, too.

The staff is very friendly and the lodge is beautiful. They have these beautiful windows looking out to the Shawangunk Mountains---- STUNNING. Also Adironack Chairs everywhere for you to just enjoy the views. We had a room with a little deck looking out to the cliffs, the beds were comfortable and room was very clean. No complaints at all. The lodge offers a breakfast which had a great variety of breads - cranberry, zucchini, etc also english muffins, toast, yogurt with a really good granola and all kinds of fruit, cereals.....cookies available throughout the day. It was nice to sit by the wood burning stove and eat and chat. The lodge is conveniently located to New Paltz Village (a couple of miles away) that has a strip of unique shopping and restaurants - The Gilded Otter. Also, the Wine Trail is all around the lodge. What a beautiful area!! We will definitely be back!

Room Tip: They have Forest View rooms which is what I think I booked because it was a couple of dollars cheaper....We winded up with a cliff view with deck....they may have had the room available and upgraded us, I'm not sure ....but if you are going to spend some time at the lodge it was a breathtaking view so would suggest booking the room that has balcony/deck with cliff view...amazing!
