“Best Steak In Area”
Reviewed July 24, 2013

Set over a roaring water cascade of a former mill, the restaurant is dog friendly. There are two separate outdoor areas where dogs are allowed. The one in the back is covered and have a ceiling fan that provide a nice respite on a hot summer day. Wait staffs are very friendly and attentive and the foods are delicious. The steaks, as recomended by our waitress was cooked to our specific order were very tasty. My cocktail which feature a locally made Hudson Whiskey from accross the street was not too sweek and taste just perfect! Definitely one of a hiden gem for the area.

“Lovely setting and great service”

We really enjoyed our dinner. We went on a Tuesday night. We had a great dinner and enjoyed the beautiful setting and gracious service. My husband especially enjoyed his steak - which is their specialty.

“Old building, new surprise.”
Reviewed July 11, 2013

Enjoyed a great dinner over the long July 4th weekend. Lovely setting overlooking the Wallkill River in this former gristmill building (beautifully restored & in keeping with the history of the Gristmill). Our party of 4 enjoyed memories of buying milled flour there in our "youth".
Outdoor dining available, we chose to eat inside due to excessive heat. Great selections, service, drinks & desserts. Prices a little high, but when everything, including service, is so good, you don't mind. Will return when the weather is a little cooler & dine out on the deck.

“A Gem”
Reviewed July 8, 2013

The entire setting is beautiful, the porch over looks the waterfall, inside the restaurant the "charm" of the mill is ever present while feeling comfortable. Extensive drink menu. I had a "special" cocktail being offered that evening and my husband had ice tea, both were great. My husband had the steak, and I filet mignon with the garlic mashed. It was excellent. Cooked to perfection, melted in your mouth. While the salad was served with dinner, at first we were not sure about that, but it worked!
The coffee was delicious also. A dark roast, but delightful.
You are not getting away "cheap" when eating here, but it is worth it.
