“Afternoon Tea in the Polo Lounge”
Reviewed May 13, 2014

We decided to try something different on a Saturday afternoon and went for tea at the Garden City Hotel. We were seated promptly upon arrival and were greeted shortly thereafter by our server. There are a few different choices you can pick from. The regular tea, which is $40.00. The chocolate tea which I think was $45.00 and the champagne tea for $50.00. They all include your choice of tea (or cocoa for the chocolate selection), some finger sandwiches, quite a few sweets and each upgrade includes a little something extra. Personally, I would have enjoyed more savory items, but that is just my personal taste. We brought our daughter, who is a vegetarian, so there was really nothing savory for her to enjoy. Please note: We did not inform them that she was vegetarian and we did not ask for anything special for her, so I cannot say if they would have been able to accommodate a special request. As for our son, we knew this was not going to be for him. He basically ate some strawberries and then needed to stop at McDonald's on the way home. It was not until we were leaving the restaurant that we noticed a few tables had actually ordered burgers. We should have asked more questions prior to ordering, but that's totally our fault. We did enjoy the afternoon and would recommend this for a ladies afternoon out.

“Outstanding Sunday Brunch”
Reviewed February 11, 2014

We visited Polo for their Sunday Brunch. It is a buffet which includes unlimited Mimosas, Champagne, Bloody Mary's, coffee, tea and soft drinks. The selection of food is wonderful. It includes cold split lobster tails, crab claws, lobster claws, shrimp, sushi, salads, smoked fish, a pasta station, omelet station, carving board, hot dishes and more. The deserts are all delicious and it includes a chocolate fountain. Everything is replenished constantly and the buffet tables are kept neat and clean. The servers are always there to refill a drink and clear away plates. We couldn't have been happier with the entire experience. The only reason I stated It was average for children is because it is pricey (I think it was about 69pp). I think young children are half price, but that's still about $35, and that's a bit high in my opinion.
