“Oustanding Service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 27, 2011

This hotel is very clean and has updated rooms, as well as an updated lobby. The gym has 3-4 machines and some dumb bells. The rooms all have 50+ inch High Def TVs, hooked up with HDMI wires so you can you actually watch TV in HD. The rooms have a very modern them to them.

The accomidations were just the begining. The staff at this hotel are incredible. During my stay we were hit with 12 inches of snow. Not only did they keep the bar open late, so we could enjoy the begining of the storm, but in the morning everyone that worked at this hotel was helping us shovel out cars. The hotel's sales manager actually shoveled out my car for me. When I tried to tip him at the end, he refused to accept anything.

Ther service this hotel showed during my stay is the main reason why I will not stay anywhere else.

This hotel, located approximately 25 miles from New YOrk City might be ideal for those who are visiting friends or family in or near Garden City. The hotel hits the mark on the following:
1. the front desk staff is excellent and well trained. They are extremelyu interested in the comfort and well being of the guest.
2. the front lobby is very nice, the rooms are well decorated and comfortable
3. The value is OK , but certainl not cheap
4. rooms are clean, linens and towels are good.

the hotel misses the mark in the following areas:
1. the are no in-room safes
2. amenities are sparse- this needs to be upgraded- especially at the prices charged
3, there was no make up mirror- a must for women
4. we were assigned a handicap room and there was no mirror or shelf to put things on in the shower/bath.

My recommendation, if asked for, would be "perhaps". Compare rates with the Hampton Inn next door!

Modern, VERY clean (who could ask for more...) and extremely helpful staff. From check in to check out it was all positive.

BUT, if you are planning on visiting NYC find a closer hotel. It is about 40 minutes into the city from here, so not a good option for out of towners who want to "do NYC."

I am relocating to Long Island, and needed a place to live while finding the perfect ocean-side apartment or condo. It is so well located, in the middle of everything on the western side of the island. There is EVERY store on earth within a mile, and some spectacular restaurants within yards of the place.

The funky cafe menu is fun, and is not gourmet, but if you are working on a brief at 2AM you can ordder from your TV and run down to the loby, swipe your room key and pick up a bowl of soup, a salad, a burger of wings. VERY cool.

Health club is small but more than adequate for a non full service hotel.

The night guy is ridiculously accommodating, and the lobby is always spotless and very inviting. Ask for a larger room, as there are about 3 sizes, some are smallis, but none are too small. The larger rooms are suitable for working and sleeping in separate areas. TV is real good, 42" flat screen w/all the video hookups you need.

I usually stay in full service hotels, but this is definitely better than any COurtyard-type place I have stayed at.

PLEASE Speed up the internet connection, that was the only complaint I have. Oh yeas, the housekeepers are erratic, some leave enough stuff, other one forgot towels and no soap, but she might have been havibg an off day - - - Ya think?

Our boys are 19 and 22. They are tall and broad shouldered and don't really like to share a bed. Within shouting distance of NY it can be hard to find a room that even has 2 queen beds so I jumped on the chance to get 2 queens plus a sofa bed in one room for under $200/night. When that room comes with nice bedding, a big tv, a fridge, breakfast, free parking and clean, I call that a DEAL.
I enjoyed our Hyatt Place stay. Despite the hotel being full for most of our 3 night stay, our room was quiet. We were able to easily get an early arrival time. The staff was friendly and helpful for all our requests.....extra towels, directions, restaurant reccs, etc. Our wireless internet was fine. There was also printing available for free. The pool looked a bit small but certainly not the smallest I've seen. Continental breakfast was fine....bagels, muffins, yogurt, cereal, juice coffee. More food was available for purchase as was bar service, apparently 24/7. Really, I have nothing bad to say about this place at all. It was great.

After being warned by co-workers that the internet was bad, I chose to stay there anyway. Sure enough, it was terrible. The hotel seems to be so 'tech savvy'. You check yourself in, you order food through a kiosk, but just using the wireless -OR WIRED- internet is awful!

If you need to do anything on your computer, stay next door at the Hampton, I've never had a problem there.

Otherwise, not a bad hotel. Large rooms, very clean.

I stayed at the Hyatt Place in Garden City, NY, on June 23, 2010. The hotel was difficult to find... apparently there are two locations with the same address (about 2 or 3 miles apart) - 5 North Avenue, Garden, City.

My room was huge but there was no shampoo and I had forgotten to bring mine... at 1:00am, which is when we arrived, it was kind of disappointing. The room was quiet. Overall, just an average hotel.

I am a businessman. I had to make quick reservations to a project that was supposed to be ready and was not, therefore I made reservations at this hotel and had to cancel them within 24 hours.

Due to some obscure print on their website, I am being told that NONE of my monies will be refunded. The hotel will not answer phone calls, the customer service if you want to call it that simple said no refund. I thought I was going to be on that project for 7 days and made the reservations for that time period.

It is mind boggling to me that Hyatt is that desperate for money and would deliberately perform what amounts to highway robbery on its customers.

Do yourself a favor and stay anywhere else other than a Hyatt. What used to be a world class Hotel is now nothing other than a rip off.
