Great location for visiting family in the area. Hard working housekeeping kept everything shipshape, room was a good size and clean. The bed was a little soft for my taste but worked
out ok. The only issue that caused me distress was the in room heating system, it was very noisy and it cycled all the time. I tried all sorts of fan/temp combos but nothing worked, could not turn it off, so it took a long while to fall asleep.

Room Tip: High floor and away from the elevator is the best idea, we had a wonderful sunset from our room whic...

I have stayed at this hotel on business at least 5 separate occasions. I have stayed in 5 different rooms. Each room you go into the rooms are musty and smell damp. Auto feature on the thermostat just doesn't seem to work as no matter what temp you put it at , the thermostat doesn't shut off when it gets to temperature. So, I had to shut off the thermostat and hope I don't freeze during the night. Not sure why as Long Island NY is not a "humid" place like Florida or the deep south. The staff is very kind, professional and accommodating but the musty rooms cannot be addressed by a front staff person. Breakfast is good with something different than just premade eggs and cod sausage like other hotels. Open spaces are very nice and pool and fitness room are both very good.

Room Tip: Ask the front person if the room you are being given is musty or not. Also, there are two different...

Overall the start was ok. Very nice front staff. The biggest issue I had was that the hallway and rooms were musty. I switched rooms and let air conditioning run for hours. Didn't help. I was on the fifth floor. It was an overpowering carpet fresh like smell. As nice as the staff and rooms were I wouldn't stay again due to the smell.

My family and I traveled to NY for the adoption of my niece. Our first hard won experience with this Hotel was the front desk (night time) clerk upon our arrival was the total and complete professional and caring attitude from both the man and woman running the night shift(I wish I would have gotten their names). We traveled ten hours via car with two children and the ease of check-in was outstanding and above par. The rooms were spacious and clean. Not just wiped down. I need to mention the cleaning staff were well above just standard. The Free breakfast in the am was nice to have as well. My boys wanted to take advantage of the pool and real soon noticed that the pool is not heated. So chill to the bone when you first get in. Kids didn't really mind though they toughed it out and continued to play and swim. The guys at the front desk even gave the kids noodles to play with. The small gestures from the front desk guys made a huge difference. Not to mention the night time guys always had a smile on their face.
If we ever have to travel to garden city again, we will be back.

I like Hyatt Places for the most part. But I did miss having a microwave in the room. We had challenges with the billing it took many times to get it straightened out. The property is new and the staff very friendly, Irina was very pleasant to deal with and had great patience. The housekeeping staff was very loud, they shouted up and down the halls, one lady in particular made the it feel like you were in Guayaquil, Ecuador on saturday night!!!!! Listening to her shout at her coworkers in Spanish all day got old real quick. Management, please tell these ladies to keep it down, forget about sleeping in the daytime!!!

I recently reserved a block of rooms for my daughter's wedding.
We originally held 20 rooms and ended up with 55.
Jackie Teter the group sales rep was more than accommodating
She helped us with every detail.
The hotel was clean, updated and the staff was extremely pleasant and competent.
Be careful about directions some of the guests had trouble locating the hotel by GPS.
