When we checked in with our 29 ft camped after reserving onsite, the site did not hold a 29 ft camper unless you want your awening on the side of the road, facing the road. We found a way to get it in without driving over bushes or trees. It was an open entrance that was not raked. It was the only way in. We were spoken to about that, then he saw that we had 2 small tents set up. The space is long and narrow that fit our tents and our camper without disturbing the trees or bushes. He demanded we take a tent down. We understand they make rules for people who abuse parks and recreations but we are just a quiet family that have been camping for more than 20 years here and we have never had anyone write us a violation. 2 other park rangers stopped and we asked them if we could please leave a tent. They checked out our site and said ,sure no one will bother you. We go to town for some things and we get back to a written violation. We go down go the ranger station and the ranger who gives us the violation won't even come out of the office to speak with us. We just wanted to clarify why we were told on 2 occasdilns yes we could have the tents and then a violation. I would like to mention many people on this holiday weekend had more than 3 to 5 tents on one site. We also would have liked to know why we were being picked on for the tent issue when it seemed as though we were not alone. Rules are rules and I truly believe in this case people can interoperate rules to adhere to situations. Obviously most of ghd staff agrees, since most told us WD could keep our tent. A quiet family of 4 looking to have a fun weekend. Mr. Ranger may I remind you that my tax dollars and my fee to camp pays your salary and a little customer service goes a long way. How you speak to people and how you treat people goes a long way.
