We visited my son, who is away at college in Ithaca, for Easter. We took him and a friend to Easter Brunch at the Waterwheel. Although we made a reservation for noon, we arrived at 11 hoping that we could get in earlier. The hosts were very accomodating and although busy, they were able to get us in.
Once seated we were promptly brought water, menus, and our drink order was taken. We had juices which were very good and water -- which had a hint of sulfur taste to it. The brunch menu offered a broad arrange of options including quiche, omelets, steak, lobster newburg, and more. Two of us ordered the quiche which was very good. It was served with a choice of soup or salad. Two of us ordered the steak which came with potatoes and eggs. The steak was excellent and serving size was very good. One of us had the omelet and she liked it very much and lastly I had the lobster newburg served over rice. The sauce was very tasty, I just wish I had more of it as it was not very filling.
We did not order dessert but it looked very good and there was a great selection. The waitress was very attentive as were the owners who came by regularly to ask us how things were. There was also a guitar player who played some light background music providing some very nice ambiance.
I polled the family as to how they would rate the Waterwheel and mostly had 5/5 with two of us giving a 4/5. We would definitely consider returning.
