“Don't let appearances put you off, this is a Gem !!!”
Reviewed July 13, 2012

Wow what a place!

I had been forwarned that dont let the appearance put you off, and that didnt disappoint, Beers in Quarts, perfect!!

This beats the hell out of the New York branch, its earthy, honest and great fun.

Some alarmed diners worried as a small puddle appeared in the restuaurant "Ah its high tide, it always happens" was the industrious waiters reply.

Thats how close you are to the sea. There is an inside and outside dining area, very basic, beers in polystyrene cups and wine in plastic cups, food served on disposable plates and containers, this all adds to the no nonsense atmosphere of this Gem. Beers Range from a very reasonable $5.50 per Quart to $10.50 and Pinot is about $3.50 a glass.

There are daily specials and Friday or Saturday you get 2 lobsters for $25 its amazing.

This was probably the best meal we had in a 15 day vacation, I cant recommend this place more. It is a totally no nonsense eatery that delivers way beyond expectations.

We had a shrimp special $8, Snow crab £15, and I had a combo that had Scallops, Cajan Shrimp and Calamari for $11

If you're in Freeport and are hungry I dare you to pass on by

“Old-Time casual dining, with good food.”
Reviewed July 9, 2012

Jeremy's is on the water and you can sit outside on a limited deck. Inside is old style table seating. Food was good and priced reasonably. Owner was attentive.

“Most Bang for the Buck”
Reviewed July 3, 2012

Used to be known as the best place in New York to eat for under $10. Well times have chnged but not much. besides the lobster platters there are only a few dishes nearing $13. Almost everything is still $10 or less. including the Quarts of beeer... That's right I said QUARTS! This is one of the only REAL "Clam Bars" left on Long Island. The food is good, plentiful, and cheap. There clams are $6 cheaper by the dozen then anywhere else on "The Mile". There is no wait staff. You walk, Stake a claim to a table, go to the bar and get your own menus, choose your meals, place your order at the bar, and tell them where you are sitting they'll bring your dishes to you. Working on the honor system, you pay at the bar on the way out when your done. The place is a dump, but it's where all the locals who are in the know go to eat. The only complaint I hear is from women because the restrooms are unisex, and unfortunately you know how boys can be with their aim!

It's been a while since I last visited Jeremy's, but what an awesome place, the atmosphere, surroundings, friendliness, food and beer are all unequalled in New York.

You not find a bar with more character in the whole of America.

This place is the best, but not for the faint hearted or fussy.
