I had wanted to stay at the White Inn for a few years and had the opportunity last week. Dispite the hotel loosing my reservation (come to find out they had simply entered it for the incorrect day), I was impressed with the ambiance of the hotel. Yes, I know they claim to be a B&B, but in reality it is more like an Inn. Regular hotel-like lobby, and two floors of guest rooms above.
My room was a nice size corner room. The bedroom portion was comfortable with ample light from windows. The bathroom was not only outdated, but a bit more worn than I am comfortable with. The grout in the bath made me cringe.
The bed was comfortable, but if you want a relaxing sleep-in in the morning, you might want to check with the other guests first. The minute someone steps on the floor, the building creaks so loud that sleeping is not an option.
I did have the opportunity to eat in the restaurant for lunch. The clam chowder was very flavorful and the burger was nicely put together as well.
If I were to stay again - I would ask for a third floor room so perhaps I could get some sleep.More
