“Awesome Motel”
Reviewed July 3, 2010

When you think about renting a Motel you usually do not have super high expectations. But what a plesant surprise when we arrived. This place is awesome. The grounds are imaculate. There is an amazing, beautiful indoor pool & hot tub and a very nice but chilly outdoor pool. The rooms are very large and clean and has a little fridge. We had adjoying rooms which was very nice for our large group. The only thing that would be a nice touch would be a small microwave to re heat our food left over from the restaurant from across the street that gives an amazing amount of food. They motel has a nice playground for the kids and a little 2 hole mini putt golf, horseshoes, basketball and outdoor grills and picnic tables. The only thing I would complain about is the pillows were hard (but that is to my liking and may not be for everyone) and it was a little dark in the bathroom, very minor things. The people that own this Motel clearly value their property and it shows. I would stay here again and I would recommend this place to other people that will be coming to the area.

The idea that motels are on a level below hotels is silly, and this place is a prime example. Free wifi, a game room with billiards, clean rooms, daily room servicing, and cable tv. The decor in the lobby and around the grounds has a horsetrack theme to it and is fun-kitschy without being ridiculous. There's also a workout room and pool but I did not have a chance to try them out, though given the quality of the rest of the facilities I am sure they are great too. This place doesn't try to be and isn't a four-star hotel; it's a cozy, comfy, and clean motor inn for people on the road.

Staff was friendly, no frills but the prices were better than some of the other motor inns in the area. Pretty clean, indoor pool area kind of small and over chlorinated. Central location and well up kept. I would stay here again if saving money was a factor. The rooms were slightly larger than I was expecting and included a refrigerator which was also nice.

We stayed there, as a quick pit stop while traveling back from Florida and this hotel was a good choice.

It is a little expensive (60$) since they do not offer a continental breakfast but you could get coffee in the lobby 24/24.

The room has wireless Internet access and it was very clean and very spacious. This was one of the biggest hotel rooms we got in that range of hotel.

This was the best choice in that area and I would probably stay there again in the future if the price is right.

We stumbled across this place by sheer chance and wound up staying three nights instead of the just one we originally intended. Motel is just what I always hope for on a road trip: Not part of a chain, a little old-fashioned but in good repair, clean and reasonably quiet and secure.

The Landmark is not fancy but the people who run it are good people; the accommodations are very adequate; and the rates they charge are very fair.

  • Liked — It was the opposite of a rip-off
  • Disliked — heat in first room we stayed in could not be adjusted and room got way too warm

The Landmark Inn is a top of the line motor inn. The grounds are meticulously maintained and decorated appropriately for any given season. The constant theme is horse racing. They pay attention to detail, something that has been missing for many years for this type of motel. The lobby area contains a computer, fireplace, free pool table, travel information, coffee & tea, and comfortable chairs. They provide a complimentary daily newspaper, even on Sunday. They also have an indoor & outdoor pool, Jacuzzi and exercise room. I have never used the outdoor pool. The indoor pool and Jacuzzi are clean and well maintained. The exercise equipment is fine for a cardio workout.

The rooms are as clean and well maintained as the rest of the property. The beds are comfortable and the heat/AC work fine. They also include a refrigerator. The TV’s are flat screen non-digital with plenty of channels to choose from. They are roomy and odor free.

The location is perfect for this area of NY State. It is between Lake George & Saratoga Springs. It is also about a half hour ride to Vermont. We have been coming here for several years. We use this motel as a base for day trips. It is by far the best value in the area. I am quite perplexed at some of the negative reviews. I can’t believe that they were staying at the same motel. For this type of accommodation, it doesn’t get much better than this.

Stayed at the Landmark in Sept. of 2008. First stayed there in 2003 and every time I have stayed I liked it. Very clean, updated. Like the motor inn/motels used to be. Friendly staff, very reasonably priced. Great indoor pool and jacuzzi. Would recommend for anyone to stay at.
