“Great hotel near subway right into Times Square”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

We were going to visit our son, daughter in law and new grand daughter in Jackson Heights, Queens and found this wonderful hotel in nearby Flushing's Chinatown. The Marco is on a major road in Queens, Northern Blvd., near a subway stop which is a very short trip into Times Square and about a $30 cab fare into the City. They even have a free shuttle to and from LaGuardia Airport (but not JFK). The hotel is very well run, clean, and the staff were extremely courteous, friendly, and efficient. The buffet breakfast in the hotel restaurant was really fantastic! So bountiful and delicious that we never needed lunch. Because we booked directly with the hotel the breakfast was included in our room price. The price is far less than for a Manhattan hotel. We were there for seven nights and will definitely always stay there when visiting our family in Queens. Check out their web site for all they have to offer!

Room Tip: Rooms not on Northern Blvd. will be more quiet as will the higher floors. The handicap room had a h...

My husband and I stayed one night. We took the subway from Manhattan and the hotel is 4 blocks away from the last subway stop. The free transportation service provided to and from the US Open is very convenient! The hotel is very clean and the staff is very nice. We received complimentary breakfast because we booked directly with the hotel. We had a nice lunch in the restaurant with a complimentary glass of wine. We are planning to stay here next year for the US Open because we had a great time.

We stayed here for one night while visiting the US Open. Parking was easy, and the room was clean, quiet and pleasant. The main reason we chose this hotel was for the free shuttle to the Open and they did not disappoint. We were taken there promptly and picked up when we were ready to leave . Will definitely book again if visiting next year.

Perhaps if this odd hotel weren't TA rated 1 in Flushing NY, I'd be less disappointed. They use old style floor-unit A/C that is 3 feet from the (sagging) bed. The unit rumbles loudly and blows on your back all night long. Place has a feel I can only call peculiar. Nearby dining options are spare unless you want authentic Asian cuisine--not as glamorous as it sounds. We stayed here one night for the US Open, but given they cater to that, they don't get the Tennis Channel in the room. The place seems clean and is okay but scarcely worth $300, and if it's No.1 rated, I can't imagine nos. 2 or 3.

Room Tip: Go high up. Try to select a month when the A/C won't have to run.

I was stuck in JFK at midnight of the Saturday of Labour Day weekend - NYC was crammed. I had stayed here about a month previously and had kept the phone number. When I rang the man on the desk remembered me and sorted me out with everything I needed; including complimentary late check out given my late arrival. The hotel is super clean, safe and quiet. The staff do all they can to assist. I would recommend this hotel without hesitation.

Check in was an exercise in patience especially after an all day flight. Reception staff were extremely polite but were unable to complete a check in task without passing the buck to another staff member - they were trying to deal with too many customers at once - they need to prioritise and complete the task from start to finish.
A faulty door lock just added a further issue to check in - manager had to re- program the door lock from the hallway with a hand held device before we gained access to our room. Room was very comfortable & clean.
We ate at the on site restaurant for dinner - absolutely fantastic meal and service - would highly recommend. Breakfast was also at the same eatery - usual continental fare.
