This was one of our stadiums on a recent baseball bus trip. I still call this park “new” as it was my first visit after closing Shea stadium.
The entrance at center field is impressive with the large pictures, quote from Jackie Robinson and a large team store. The home plate of Shea stadium and original apple are displayed outside the stadium. In addition they have some “Mets moments” on the walk surrounded by memory bricks. It provides a nice story if the team.
There are plenty of food choices ranging from standard ballpark food to more healthy options. There are touches if Shea stadium incorporated into the design like the bridge out on concourse outside center field.
The park itself is conducive to watching a game. Seats are all turned to face home plate for easy viewing. The scoreboard is large and has everything a fan needs to know to monitor the game.
There is a small museum right by the team store that houses their World Series trophies (1969 and 1986) as well as information about team greats like Tom Seaver
