Just point, don't ask and don't let the ladies sell you the Chef's special. Best to go with friends as you get a chance to try more dishes. Try the Shrimp dumpling, crunchy sweet shrimp wrapped in a rice flower dough, the miushroom and vegetale wrapped in bean curd wrap . But be careful it can add up. Best to have 5-10 dishes, then after 11AM order from the menu. Try Shredded Chicken with vegetable chow mein. Weekday bargin, every Dim Sum dish is $2, on Weekends dshes are $2.50 up. Weekend can be very crowded and noisy. Cash Only.

Born in Brooklyn and raised in Flushing since 1954, I have seen transformational changes in the center of Flushing from the time I was graduated from Junior High School 218Q in 1958 from the stage of the long gone Prospect Theatre at the juncture of Main Street and Kissena Boulevard. While I lament the lack of any movie venues in this vibrant Asian community, I am gobsmacked by the variety and plethora of restaurants, primarily Chinese or Korean.

Jade Asian Restaurant, on a side street one block south of Roosevelt Avenue and directly across the street from the principal Muni Parking lot, is a treasure aptly named. The Dim Sum is superb, is discounted during the week but worth the full price on weekends and ceases to be served at three o'clock. We also ordered off of their regular menu. The shrimp and glazed roasted walnuts are orgasmic!

I've been coming here for years and the food is much like every other Cantonese restaurant. prawns with walnuts and salad cream, roast duck, salt and pepper fried squid, all my favorites! worth a visit if you're in the area. parking isn't too bad as there are local muni-lots near by, if you get really lucky you can find street parking.

service is fast and they do speak english, decor leaves something to be desired but if you're going for chinese food, you're not going for atmosphere!

This huge banquet room-like restaurant accommodates hundreds of customers for dimsum on weekends. My friend Lingyan, who is Chinese, and I enjoyed a meal there on Saturday, February 18.
The place is a bit chaotic, but fun and packed with families, couples and groups of friends.
They seat you at a communal table and a waiter takes your drink order right away. Then, the fun begins! Servers wheel carts loaded with bamboo steamers packed with pork buns, Chinese vegetables, chicken, pork, custards, fried foods and flat noodles. When you find something you like, you stop the server, they give you a plate with three or four portions and mark your ticket. Every time you see a cart with something delicious, you beckon the server over and they add it to your growing selection.
The price was quite reasonable and the restaurant is easy to get to from public transportation.
Lingyan told me what each dish had, so at least I knew what I was getting.
The clientele is mostly Asian - Flushing is a Chinatown of Queens - but I found that most of the servers spoke English.
For an off-the-beaten-track adventure, go to Flushing!!!
