First, the farm is in Queens. Not the Bronx. Second, this is not the Flushing Meadow Park Zoo. This is a farm. I volunteer there. If you are over 18, and it's the appropriate season you can come by on a Sunday or Tuesday and harvest vegetables or weed, whatever they need. It's great. It's like channeling your inner migrant worker. I really enjoy it!
Otherwise, people make birthday parties, get married, come to the events, or just walk around.
When I'm there, working, I can really forget that I'm in New York City. It's a true wonder. BUT, IT'S NOT THE BRONX!!!

“Terrific Idea for Fall Activity, well kept, lots to do!!”
Reviewed October 14, 2012 via mobile

Great choice for family with young kids, worth the hour drive from NJ! I was surprised at how big it was and how many activities:

Corn maze (this was really fun for adults too because it's actually challenging), kids can enjoy it because there are kid themes to the clues (this year was Disney movies)- takes about an hour.

Hayride - also fun; pumpkin picking (good selection)

Animals - a ton of animals- horses, pigs, goats, alpacas and many more. Kids can do a pony ride or even milk a cow.

Farm house tour - didn't have time for this but supposedly is very good. The gift shop was actually pretty impressive - jams and cookies were yummy. Also apple cider and sweet corn booths in the farm - all delicious. Staff was very friendly. Grounds were all very clean.

So glad we did this! Look into getting the activity pack. Go early because line for tickets gets longer in the afternoon. Also check the event calendar because there are a variety of events during the year.

“Best Corn Maze around”
Reviewed October 13, 2012

Went to the farm on a sunny cool October Saturday. The corn maze ($9 entry) was worth every penny. Your group gets a flag so you can keep track of each other, you get a hilariously entertaining orientation speech, and they play fun music through speakers that keeps you dancing and upbeat throughout the maze.

The roasted corn, apple cider, and homegrown wine sold at the shop all made for a glorious day trip out of the city to see some country life!

“Can't believe it's a farm in NYC!”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

Great farm experience right in NYC. We've been for a few events, but really enjoy it every time. The regular features include a petting zoo, cows & pigs, chickens, crops, barn, and tractors. The three old tractors are a big hit with toddlers who line up to climb on and "drive".

The Queens County Fair was great fun for adults and kids. The pig races were one of the highlights. They also have a lumberjack show and circus performers juggling and a band walking on stilts. Most of the other activities charge a fee during the fair (petting zoo, pony rides, tractor rides, butterfly house, carnival rides). The corn maize is also open now, but charges a fee for adults and kids. There are also agriculture shows with ribbons for livestock and vegetables and baked goods. Only disappointment was no cotton candy, but otherwise great fair experience that reminded me of my childhood county fairs in another state.

“Queens Fair”
Reviewed September 22, 2012

We visited Queens County Farm on weekday during queens fair. Very nice place to spend with family. Children enjoyed corn maze and pig race. Little expensive: entrance was $26 for the family of four. Otherwise, great time, great place.
