This cabin is nothing but cozy and homey. Our last stay with my group of friends in April (this was the third time!) was a great time. It had snowed the night we arrived, and John the property manger graciously had the wood stove in the front living room going for us as we arrived. The following day, we spent hours sledding down the many hills around the house, and cozying up by the fireplace in the 2nd living room. There is a great collection of classic VHS tapes that we enjoyed flipping though (The Michael Bolton Documentary is our favorite), and there are many board games available that our friends enjoyed playing together. The views from the balcony overlooking the mountains are picture perfect - the views of the sunset going behind the mountains are spectacular.
This lodge is the perfect weekend getaway for a group of family or friends. Our friend group is already planning our next trip to the lodge in a few months!
Thank you for everything Dana & John, you've helped us create some great memories!
It truly is a secluded lodge with spectacular Mountain views!
We stayed at Dana's place for New Year's weekend. Dana is simply the best. It was my first time booking through this site and she made the whole experience really easy. She was very easy to get in touch via email or phone. Her property manager was away at the time of our stay, but Zach was excellent. On the day of our arrival he waited for us at the lodge so he could plow the long driveway last minute for us. It was greatly appreciated since it was snowing really heavy. Dana was also very accommodating with the time of arrival. She wanted to make sure we got to the lodge early to avoid the bad weather conditions and got the house ready for us in the morning.
It is a perfect place for a large family or group of friends.
There is plenty of room for everyone and everything.
The driveway is long but once you get up you see this beautiful and really big house and plenty of parking.
The VIEW is the best!
The loge is so big inside, entry hall is enormous and so welcoming with plenty of room for all the boots and coats etc
Kitchen is really big with everything you might need to cook a feast. The LR with the wood stove is also big yet warm and cozy. Plenty of room for a big group to sit at the dining room table and also by TV. I personally hate to rent places that advertise room for 10 and you can only sit 6 at the dining table and 4 on one sofa! Not Dana's place. It was a perfect place to celebrate New Years.! We all had plenty of room in the bedrooms and the LR/DR area. There is also another LR area on the other side of the house with fire place and comfortable sectional and of course the incredible view!
There are two full baths in this house but I think its worth mentioning that one of the baths is enormous, very comfortable.
There are also plenty of towels, soap and shampoo.
So many extras in this house like game table and another mini fridge ( we actually really appreciated that) all the wood is provided and it is all stacked inside.
I could go on and on about how great this place is!
We only stayed during winter but I am sure Dana's place is magical any time of the year.
We rented the cabin Christmas weekend. Everything was lovely! Nice drive up from Westchester, did not feel too far but far enough :) The location is perfect, very private at the top of a long road. There was an ice storm the night before our stay which made the road to the cabin a little slippery but if you have 4x4 you won't have any problems. Dana, the owner, was very helpful and informative before our arrival. John, the property manager, kept the grounds as clean and safe as possible. He was shoveling, throwing down sand and helping us out of our vehicles. The views area spectacular. The cabin is EXTREMELY spacious. There are 3 bedrooms but a total of 6 beds and a day bed in one of the living rooms. Our stay overall was very enjoyable and we hope to visit again.
This place is a pure gem tucked away in the Catskills. First of all, the process of booking the rental and communication with the owner was seamless and very pleasant throughout. The house and area is really wonderful. There is a deck from which you get amazing views of the mountains and the area is very quiet and secluded - yet you feel safe and comfortable. Right next door is the manager, a very nice gentleman.
The house is beautiful, large enough for atleast 10 people to stay very comfortably, and the rooms are clean, airy, and stacked with all the basic provisions. Very nice rustic decor.
We spent our evenings cooking, chatting, and star gazing by the camp fire ( there is a fire pit, and the night sky is amazing!), and the mornings hiking and exploring the area ( there are several trails close by).
We definitely plan on visiting and staying here again!!
The house itself was so beautiful but also warm and welcoming, and Dana and John were so accommodating! The views from all around the house are absolutely spectacular, I have to recommend spending some time on that back porch, for sure. It was perfect and perfectly comfortable for 8 people celebrating my low-key 30th birthday, I enjoyed it so much I would love to return sometime soon!
We had a great time at Dana's house! The pictures on Flipkey definitely undersell the place. Its at the end of a long dirt road, and has a porch off of one of the living rooms that overlooks the whole valley. There are some nice woods to hike in right out of the house, and the house itself is great. Two big living rooms, one with a nice toasty wood stove, and a pretty big kitchen stocked with everything you would need. Its a great place to hunker down and spend time with people, which is what we did, but its also close enough to the nearby towns to go out for dinner or a hike. Dana was also very accommodating. Usually there is a housekeeper who lives in the attached apartment, but he was away for our stay, which was fine with us. The place also has plenty of space to sprawl out, and with 7 people we still didn't feel crowded at all. I would definitely come back!
This mountain cabin gave myself and my friends everything we needed for a long summer weekend stay. Dana is an extremely communicative and accommodating host. We fit 10 guests and a dog in the cabin very comfortably. The kitchen is well stocked with everything we needed to cook our meals, and we culminated our weekend with a grilled feast in the back yard. The cabin is also very conveniently located, a short drive from the mountain slopes (which we turned into hiking trails) and a lake where you can go for a swim. I would highly recommend a stay here!
