Had high hopes for this place, having read enthusiastic reviews. However, the Madison is really more of a B&B than a hotel as it offers very little in the way of services.
The pool is pleasant and the hot tub is nice. The communal areas are also pleasant and the view from the roof top is good.
Breakfast is very basic, with scrambled egg kept warm and uncovered on a hot plate and jams and spreads left uncovered for the flies. Bagels, scrambled egg, spreads and coffee plus natural yoghurt and melon is the sum total of breakfast. Not what I expect for almost $700 a night.
The hotel could also do with a thorough clean. It isn't filthy, but it is grubby and the duvet cover in our room had dried blood on it, which was rather unpleasant!
Some staff are very friendly and others are unfriendly and cold.
The pines itself is not a place I would return to. It largely centres around some fairly lame clubs and bars and not much else. The restaurants are essentially snack bars / fast food places - there are no good restaurants here.
