“Really a 4.5”
Reviewed April 27, 2012

Hullers is the favorite local watering hole for good reason. The bar/restaurant has been in the hands of three generations of the Hullar family, going on the fourth. Jacob Hullar I acquired the restaurant after WWI. A favorite with golfer's, the restaurant serves consistently good food, which arrives at your table hot and ready to eat. The service staff can pride itself on fast personal service. At times, especially Friday evenings, the place can be very crowded, but few seem to mind even a 45 minute wait in the congenial bar. Burgers, fish, beef, pork chops, soup and salads, are all homemade and fresh. The desserts are like dining at grandmas--apple dumplings a la mode, pies, and good hot coffee. Children are handled with grace, but sometimes the wait is longer than most children can sit still for.

Not a place to take the boss for dinner, or for a first date, so take your good friends, neighbors, family, guests, anyone you want to spend an evening of conversation over good food with, and you'll be a frequent visitor. Join the club!

“Old Fayetteville favorite”
Reviewed February 20, 2012

If you like a busy restaurant with very reasonable prices and very good food, Hullar's in Fayettevile is the place to be on a Friday or Saturday evening. You might expect to wait a little while when busy and you will. Luckily, there is a crowded bar area with lots of friendly people. The staff is pleasant and pretty fast and dinner won't break you.

“Consistently good!”
Reviewed February 2, 2012

Every time we have eaten at Hullars, the food and service have been great. There is a good menu choice....sandwiches, burgers, chicken... Just one suggestion....go early, it gets busy.

“Casual and Affordable, a Local Tradition”
Reviewed November 3, 2011

Hullar's has been operating since 1911 and is the oldest restaurant in Fayetteville, NY. While travelling through the area, we stopped there for dinner on a Monday night. It was quite busy at around 7:30, but the staff kept up well and we were served quickly. We both had pasta dishes, which we found excellent, but Hullar's offers a reasonably wide range of choices, many under $10. There is a bar in a semi-separate adjoining room; it seemed a popular local meeting spot but it was not noisy or intrusive in the dining room.
We found Hullar's an enjoyable change from chain restaurants, enjoyed both the meal and the homey atmosphere, and we'd certainly go again.
