My visit to Kirby's was in the company of older relatives, who admitted that it was a favorite of local seniors. Waitress, receptionist and bartender were prompt and friendly 20-something gals. 2-for-1 Happy Hour pricing made 2 bourbon and ginger ales just $5 before a tip, but they have an odd policy that to get that price in the dining room you need to go to the bar yourself. Our food arrived pretty quickly. My Beef & Bleu Salad was absolutely loaded with blue cheese and walnuts, the vegetables fresh, the steak medium-rare as requested...I ate all the meat but only about half of the serving. We had brought a little sheet cake with us for dessert and our waitress did not hesitate to bring small plates and forks before efficiently processing three separate checks for 7 people. Not a place I would choose for myself, but good for multigenerational American family dining.
