My husband and I were staying near Syracuse Univ for several days and I wanted to show him a more scenic side of the Syracuse area. We went to Green Lakes for an afternoon and it was just what we needed. I hadn't been in years, and I pretty much only used to go to the beach area. I had noticed online that there were several trails for walking/hiking/biking, so we decided to try them out. We walked around Green Lake and Round Lake (total of about 3 miles). These trails were relatively flat but VERY scenic. There are several other trails that go into the hills around the lake, but we got to the park in mid-afternoon and I didn't want to get stuck on the trails when the light started to fade. I would definitely like to go back and try some of the other trails. There were also several rowboats and kayaks for rent, which would be fun to try on another trip.
