We travel a lot and stay at a variety of hotels and motels around the country and Europe. We stay at Red Roof Inns often for comfortable accomodations for good value, but evaluate each on its relative merits. This is not renovated per the new Red Roof updates, except that it has a nice flat screen TV and new tub. In my opinion, the ongoing maintenance of the property is excellent and I checked. The hot water pressure was excellent. The staff was friendly and welcomed us. Our room was a clean as any in which I have stayed anywhere. I felt that the bed was quite good and pillows fine, but older "technology" than the new competitive updates. There was a microwave available in the common area. We always remember to request a first floor room for convenience. The hallway rug was in fact cleaned and vacuumed, but has seen a few eastern winters. Several wonderful, inexpensive breakfast places are nearby, although the hotel does not inform people of this, but there is no attempt at providing breakfast and the coffee service was okay.
I think that for a NY resort area, since it is but maybe not apparent to travelers passing through, this is a good value.More
