“Friendly staff, clean and pleasant”

After looking at a couple of other value hotels in the Jamestown area that looked like the Bates Hotel, the Red Roof Inn seemed like a luxury resort in comparison. The staff were very friendly; even helping me carry my heavy bag up to my 2nd floor room. The rooms were spacious, modern and clean. The light bulb was burned out in my bathroom, but it was changed in the morning when the maintenance person arrived- they carefully waited until after I was awake. (I'm a night owl and have a pet peeve about hotel housekeeping staff pounding on doors early in the morning so they can get their work done and go home early). It was wonderfully quiet in the morning!

The only reason I did not give a 5 star rating was because of the insidious smell of cigarette smoke in the hallways and lobby. Also it would be nice if there were mini-refigerators in the rooms.

Loved this place. It's the best value option in Jamestown area.

Room Tip: If you are a non-smoker, ask for a room away from the lobby.

I'll admit it -- I only chose this hotel for the price. As it turned out, the Red Roof staff really outdid themselves. When my car broke down on the way in, they refunded my first night long after the official cancellation time. They let us keep stuff in the freezer during our stay (rooms only have a fridge), and offerred the employee fridge for a few hours after checkout. They were always on hand with misc bits of help & advice, but never in the way. And all with a smile on their face.

The hallway sometimes smelled like smoke, but who hangs out in a 2-star motel's hallway? Room smelled fine, was kept tidy (ample supply of linens if you followed the directions -- no nagging required), decent king bed, convenient parking hidden behind very dark curtains.

Room Tip: Get the "Special King" rooms, totally worth it.

i simply loved staying at the red roof inn! the staff was very helpful and catered to all of our needs (mother in law is high maintinence) but even she loved the service we got here. the rooms were clean upon arrival and stayed clean through out our stay. the front desk personell was terrific and always made sure there was fresh coffee ( a pet peve of my husbands). we never did see the housekeeping staff but they made sure our room was juct right when we got back. thank you soooo much red roof inn!! we'll never stay anywhere els again!!!

Room Tip: red roof inn has the lowest rates in the jamestown falconer area and the nicest staff

Myself and a few others stayed at this Red Roof Inn at the end of June/beginning of July for a business trip. We booked late and this was the only hotel within our driving and price range that had the number of rooms available that we needed so we really had no choice.

Overall, the motel was okay; conveniently located off the interstate and the front desk staff were all very friendly. However, the rooms left much to be desired and didn't even have a packet of soap or a plastic cup in them. Luckily I always over pack and this wasn't an issue, but I guess I'm used to staying in hotels that are a step or two above this RRI so it was a little shocking at first to realize they didn't have anything like that in the room. I also didn't like that the motel sat back away from the road, as if in a cubby almost -- it gave it a shady, dark vibe.

Bottom line is that this Red Roof Inn is an okay place to stay if you're just looking for a night's rest, but if you're going to be in the Jamestown/Falconer area for a while, I'd book earlier and stay at a Hampton or somewhere similar. This RRI was overpriced for what it offered and I'm not sure that I'd stay again.

After having spent a great night at a RRI in eastern Ohio for $49.99 (plus tax), we arrived tired and hungry in Falconer, NY on our return trip to WI. The RRI sign was very reassuring, but upon hearing that a similar room would cost $89.99 (plus tax = $92.50),
we were naturally dismayed. The room was probably the worst that we have ever
stayed in. It was a small room with hardly any space to move around in or to put a suitcase, located on the ground floor, so people walking by the glass sliding door made
us feel less than safe. The king-sized bed and the pillows were lumpy and very uncomfortable.
The door to the bathroom faced the room, an arrangement that made it feel as though the bathroom was a part of the room. The bathroom itself was equipped with a strangely
primitive shower with no floor lip to prevent the water from flowing into the rest of the bathroom.
The overall feeling was that of being in a very basic motel, hardly worth the price that we
had to pay for it. It was not near a gas station, and the nearest decent restaurant was not within walking distance, either. After this experience, we don't feel like taking a chance by staying at any RRI. Thank you for your attention.

This hotel was great. It was clean, neat, and handy to Jamestown NY if you are into "I Love Lucy" and all the fun activities associated with "Lucytown". The only negative was the lack of hot water the second day...shower was cold. This is possibly because of unexpected volumes of guests for the Lucille Ball 100th Birthday celebration. There was not a room left in all the area. This hotel is quite near Rt. 86 and close to Lake Chautauqua...plus, the price was RIGHT ! Staff was the best part......they were friendly and helpful and quick to respond to our needs. Would stay there again !
