“Lovely place for a nice walk”
Reviewed December 17, 2012

The Erie Canal accessed from Fairport NY is both picturesque and a great place to walk on flat (mostly) paved trail. You can go very far or not far at all and have no traffic (except other foot traffic & bicyclists) to contend with.

“Biking and Walking by the Canal”
Reviewed November 30, 2012

Good spot for some quiet time. Biking enthusiasts will like to ride along the Erie canal. It's pretty in summer and fall.

“Great Walk”
Reviewed November 18, 2012

We walked along the canal starting out in Perinton Park. We got off the trail in Fairport and ate lunch at Donnelly's then walked into the donwtown area. Very pleasant day!

“I love walking or riding my bike along the canal”
Reviewed November 2, 2012

A real NYS treasure, we walk or ride along the canal and enjoy every minute. We often ride our bikes up to the village for ice cream and its fun to feed the ducks or watch the crew teams rowing.

“History and beauty”
Reviewed October 28, 2012

If you live in Upstate NY, you have seem the Canal. Lift bridges, high bridges, locks, tourist boats, visitor centers, even a road that tunnels under the canal. History of western expansion and the reason there are towns with names ending in ...port all over western New York. Fairport, Spencerport, Brockport, Eagle Harbor...all on dry land before the Canal!
