We chose the Econo Lodge because it was a familiar name and was the closest hotel to the people we were visiting. Boy, what a mistake! The rates seemed a little high, and the guy at the front desk tried to upgrade us to an even more expensive room, even after we said no. We asked for a non-smoking room and the room we got had a no smoking symbol on the door but smelled like a cigarette convention had been held in there the night before. The bed was lumpy and uncomfortable and the bathroom was nasty. We will never stay there again.
