Owner description: The Captain Lawrence Brewery in Elmsford boasts a large tasting room with a 30-foot oak bar, and serves 12 ales on tap, complimented by a wide array of food cooked on-site by our kitchen. Our recently renovated beer garden sports picnic tables, beer barrels, a bocce ball court, corn hole, and giant Jenga. It also sports its own outdoor bar. In winter or during rain, we open a secondary beer garden inside the brewery itself. Captain Lawrence Brewery provides on-demand tours, and is available for booking private events such as weddings and bachelor parties. Besides CLBC merchandise, the beer hall also sells beer to go, and will fill your growlers and crowlers for you. Kegs are also available to purchase at the brewery, providing you have filled out an online order form on our website in advance.

I have been going here since they started in Westchester. They are in a new location now in Elmsford They had to move as their popularity has grown, you can find their brews in most restaurants both locally and in the City. If you like craft brews you must check this place out. They also now have bottled beers and you can find them in Whole Foods.

well 2 dollars is practically free right? Plus they have a free bocci court and balls for you to use! You should totally head to captain Lawrence to take advantage of this because well, the beer is damn good (nice Belgian clones, sours, etc etc) and you can drink as much as you want for 2 bucks! Here's a tip for you if your into growlers, A typical growler is 64 ounces, and a new one plus fill is 13 bucks (refills are generally $10 or $11), a 6 pack of the CL staple "liquid gold" is $11 bucks and you get 72 ounces. Just saying.... CL's new location is great as well. they did a awesome job upgrading the tasting room from what it was in the old location. Great atmosphere (hard wood floors, tables made from old barrels etc etc...), great bartenders (alot of them too, you wont be waiting long for a beer), everyone here LOVES beer, and is very knowledgeable about it. I have been to some of the best microbreweries in the U.S, and this is one that i return to frequently, and would recommended for ANYONE who is remotely into beer to visit. They generally have 10 or 11 different varietals on tap for tasting, so there is bound to be something for everyone. one down side is that some of the specialty bottles can get a bit expensive for take out($15 for 1 - 12 ounce hops and roses sour). I know its hard to produce a decent sour beer, but 15 bucks is kind of outrageous for 12 ounces...

And damn good fresh beer. Go Friday night and drink your butt off for free. Very, very good beer. Buy a growler to go or a case.

For two bucks you get nice small glass (to keep) and can taste beers for free for 3 hours from Tues-Sat! If you bring the glass back you enter for free. They also began having trivia nights, food trucks, have a boccee court. It's a nice place to visit, great alternative to local bars!

Captain Lawrence recently moved to a larger location in Elmsford. It's a little hard to find since it's set a bit back from the main road, but once you're there the same neighborhood friendliness will greet you. The tour is interesting, the staff (especially the owner) is passionate about what they do, and the samples of beer are fabulous. Only negative is that you cannot purchase anything smaller than a 64-oz. growler.
