“Woodlawn Cemetary”
Reviewed July 3, 2014

A beautiful resting place with gorgeous trees and grounds. Yes, Mark Twin is buried here and also his wife, Olivia Langdon. Ernie Davis is buried here, who won the Heisman Trophy while playing for Syracuse University. Sadly, Ernie Davis developed leukemia. There are many old, interesting gravestones here, and the property is very well maintained.

“Historic cemetery”
Reviewed April 22, 2014

Spent a couple of hours walking through Woodlawn Cemetery. It contains the graves of Mark Twain, Hal Roach and Ernie Davis. There are many interesting monuments. The National Cemetery is located next to Woodlawn Cemetery.

“Resting Place for Mark Twain”
Reviewed March 4, 2014

If you are a fan of the author, Mark Twain, you will appreciate being able to visit his grave site. It is very humbling. Other family members are also buried at the same site, and at times, visitors will leave small gifts on the stone memorial in honor and memory of their best loved author.

“Many notable graves in this huge cemetery!”
Reviewed January 1, 2014

Who could resist the chance to see Mark Twain's grave, Hal Roach, or the "Elmira Express", Ernie Davis, who died much too young. They will provide you with a map to find all of the notable gravesides, and there are many signs to help guide you as well. Hard to say much about the landscaping, etc. in December, but we found what we came to see. Note that there are two Woodland cemeteries.....one a large National cemetery, the other the one referred to here. Next to one another.
