Veterans of larger resorts we wanted ski-in and ski-out and Snowpine is the ONLY option at Holiday Valley so we booked it. On advice of friends that have stayed there before we requested an A-rated unit and it was amazing. Our place had a fireplace that was super-warm and was operated with a switch... Bathroom was clean and shower was awesome. All granite kitchen was nicer than my home! Kids loved the spiral staircase... Beds comfy and bunk beds in loft were really cool... Anyway, it looks like there is much variability in the units at Snowpine but the prices are the same for all - Ask for A-rated and you wont be disapointed...

Room Tip: Ask for A rated unit

We booked 2 rooms. One had no hot water upon arrival and the other had 1 shower inoperable due to a broken faucet handle and the other having multiple leaks and water spraying everywhere. My toilet was not clean upon arrival. (Yuck) Also one coffee maker did not work, TV remote was broken and it was difficult to control the heat. We had to open a window to cool down. I mean overall the place is usable but the basic maintenance needs to step it up. They respond quickly to issues but how about tackling some basics BEFORE tenants sign in? Benefits include decent location, staff is pleasant. structure seems fine, some units are remodeled and look nice. I assume the unit owners may not be aware of the poor upkeep. But it was a bit too pricey for such substandard quality. I'd be willing to come back but not until I have some kind of verification that this has been improved.

Room Tip: I'd request one of the recently upgraded rooms and ask for verification that everything works an...

We have stayed in a E 304 unit in Jan.2012- we will never stay there again, read all of the other reviews, it's all true, location is great but not worth the money, telephone was disconected so we could not even contact reception desk, the internet was not working even after the attempt of the service guy to fix it, furniture old and very uncomfortable beds, the bedding and mattresses must have been at least 20 years old, the place was dirty.
We Loved the ski reasort even though all of the trails were not open but we will never choose to stay at Snow Pine again, now I know why they charge up front and no chance to cancel your accomodation.

We travelled to Ellicottville from Toronto to do some skiing and snowboarding for the weekend. There were 6 of us in our group but only 5 of which were doing snow sports. That being said, we were really depending on a cozy, clean condo with a working fireplace.

Not only did the fireplace NOT work (which they "thoughtfully" let us know about once we got there by putting a sign on the fireplace with clipart picture of a fire) but the place was covered in a thin layer of cleaning film and dirt. We had to wash any dish before we wanted to use it. It was very disappointing considering we were rained on all day Saturday and spent more time in the condo than we would have liked considering the indoor conditions.

We made three attempts to get some sort of compensation for the condition of our condo but the person at the desk kept insisting that they could do NOTHING until the manager arrived on Monday. When we checked out on Sunday they finally suggested that we could have been moved to another room...too little to late! We paid $1050 for two nights in a three bedroom condo; other than the access to ski in and out it was NOT worth it at all!

Snow Pine Village wanted the full amount up front and we now understand why.

This is a lovely little condo complex with all the advantages of ski-in ski-out but tucked away from the hubbub of the main resort. Our unit was updated with new decor and impeccably clean. The gas fire was just right for warming frosty fingertips after coming in from the frigid temps on the slopes. Some units have wood burning fireplaces, which would have been more romantic perhaps, but a little bit more work too. At night, all was quiet and we slept so soundly. Very little noise could be heard from adjacent units, even during the day. The hot water pressure was great and lasted for nice long showers. The one glitch was our carbon monoxide detector battery went out one night, but a call to the main number brought maintenance out within 10 minutes. Other posters have complained about the steps to get down to the units, and yes there are a few, but they are wood (not slick concrete or metal), were never icy and you make that trip only at the beginning and end of your stay. Ellicottville makes a charming outing for those who might like a dinner out. And the snow was perfect, with no lift lines to speak of during Christmas week!

This place was not cheap as we were there over New Year's, but even at the highest point of the year, it absolutely did not merit the rental rate. Photos of the condo online were misleading and no doubt taken many year ago. The place was miniscule and completely rundown. I wouldn't stay there again under any circumstances. It was filthy, bathrub faucet was broken, the blankets worn an smelly, and the kitchen was so grungy we washed all the drawer and door handles ourselves. Certainly it was nowhere near the league of the accomodations we've had at Big White and even Blue Mountain. Staff was the worst ever. The way it works is you rent a specific unit, not just any one bedroom. I spent some time figuring out one of the bettter unit numbers when I booked, only to be told upon check in that they had given it to someone else so they "could be closer to some friends." This news was delivered without apology or offer of any compensation. The woman who manages the rental office is devoid of grace. Have never encountered any one in the service industry and sorely lacking as she.

A group of four of us stayed in building A at Snowpine Village in a 2bdrm, 2bath condo. The decor is a little tacky and the kitchen is dated but soon none of that mattered. The location was superb, we loved being able to ski right from the back door of the building. "Catwalk" is the name of the run that takes you to the Snowpine village condos. The kitchen is well equipped with lots of dishes & utensils. The living room with the wood burning fireplace was a cozy place to hang out and even has movies and board games. The bedrooms are a good size with comfortable beds.
