“Best ski resort in the east!”
Reviewed September 23, 2011

Friendly staff, great mix of trails for any level skier. My husband and I take advantage of their "white card" seasonal pass that covers 9 non-holiday weekdays or any night, from opening day to Dec 24, including weekend days, as well as a free weekday skiing at Bristol Mt (Canandaigua, NY). Also includes a free spring ski day--all for about $215 pp. We prefer the midweek ski because it's not crowded as it can be on weekends. We are ready to head home by 3 pm (when the school kids hit the slopes) and by then we've had our ski fix. They have several restaurants on site (all with great food and reasonable prices), and their ski & stay packages are a deal. Recently added new accomodations, although haven't tried them yet. We drive 2 hrs to get here each time, and it's well worth the trip! Be sure to visit the town (Ellicottville) and check out the quaint stores, etc.

“Wonderful Place, great conditions, very convenient and affordable for Canadians !!”
Reviewed February 9, 2011

I finally went to Holiday Valley the weekend of Feb 5 and 6th with my family that includes two kids, 5 and 8.. The kids LOVED Holiday Valley !!!! They can't wait to go back. It is much better value than Mt. St. Louis and Blue Mountain Ski Resort for the lift tickets and the kids ski school. We had a quick drive down at 2 hours and 10 minutes, no line at the border, as it is major hwys versus that ridiculously slow and congested two lane county rd to blue, when you're coming home takes forever. Plus Blue is much more expensive and has no where near the amount of lifts that Ellicottville, Holiday Valley does. A friend of the family was just hit by a snowboarder at Blue Mountain Resort and broke their leg !

My lift pass thru the hotel was $82 no tax and the kids ski school was $90 for a FULL DAY !!! including lunch. The kids LOVED LOVED the instructors at the ski school and they did an amazing job, the ratios of staff to children were good. The staff were beyond helpful and have been there for years. So they have loads of experience, there is three clubhouses that are ski in to dine in and if you want to have a picnic lunch. The shuttle will pick you up at your car and drop you back, that was nice and they have a 5 minute loading area or you can park at one of the other clubhouses. It was really pretty at the resort and the conditions were excellent, we are going back next weekend !!!

“Crowded little town, but great resort.”
Reviewed January 31, 2011

Some of the most winter fun you can have with your family is at Holiday Valley Ski resort in New York. New Lifts make the lines zip by and in no time you are snowboarding, like me, or skiing.
I was there over the MLK weekend, and boy was it heavily crowded. The saving grace is that there are several large ski chalets on the hill, and at the bottom of several runs.
Overall the price was to be expected, a little steep, but the shuttle bus made getting in and out a breeze. I highly recommend staying in another town and driving in if money is tight.
So if you need to get awy with the family, try Holiday Valley.

“Experts will be bored”

A great place for beginners and intermedaites but if you are looking for challenging runs
you wont find any here except for maybe the Wall which is very short. Blue Mountain in Collingwood is a better option.
