A bit out of the way but worth the trip. Step back into time in a colonial house across from some historic Essex County buildings. Gracious , attentive service and a cozy little bar. Like dining in your own home. All our dishes came out warm and deeelicious. Steaks were exceptional. Good value and we'll be back.

The atmosphere is warm and homey. Nice slow pace, never felt rushed. The food is good and the service is too.

We had this at the top of our list before our visit, but were a bit disappointed. The food was good, but the service left a lot to be desired, especially considering there were only two other tables going in the room. I think there was only one waitress to cover our room and the lounge area.

The Deer's Head Inn is a lovely restaurant in an old house - very nicely decorated, with the dining areas split between 3 or 4 rooms. Service was very friendly, and the food was very good. Perhaps it was just a just too expensive.

Luncheon on the porch was a delight for us. Even though they seemed short of
servers for a Tuesday - many tables were filled. Portions were sizeable, tasty and beverages quenched our thirst. This historic restaurant was recommended to us by an area business owner. Surroundings are charming and yes, they may need to hire a few more staff. E-town is charming to visit!
