“A lovely, comfortable and relaxing experience”
Reviewed March 3, 2014

This is a beautiful new-Victorian house. It has all the charm of an old house without the annoyances of one. Some of the highlights include a spacious room with a huge whirlpool bathtub a delicious homemade breakfast and a very kind and helpful staff.

The room was quiet and peaceful; very cozy. The bathroom is spacious as well; I'm a sucker for a bathtub that's deep enough for me to soak in!

Breakfast is homemade and delicious and gives you the chance to mingle with the other guests.

The location is great; you get to be near the Hamptons without all the hubbub. There's plenty to do around the area; but just sitting around the grounds enjoying the common areas or outside is wonderful as well.

This is truly a wonderful little gem on the east end of Long Island.

We had our first experience this past week at A Victorian on the Bay B&B but it won't be our last.
Everything was warm, inviting, relaxing and impeccably clean. Breakfast was delicious and very healthy, We were asked before we arrived if we had any allergies or dietary restrictions so that the owner could decide what to prepare for our particular breakfast. It was served family style meaning everyone eats the same thing - but we did not expect a menu like a restaurant so we were happy and thought the blueberry pancakes one day and the eggs with potatoes and fruit the next were perfect.
We loved our fireplace, water view and whirlpool tub - perfect for Valentines or anytime.
Dinner was at a local Italian restaurant recommended by the owner, Rosemary, was fabulous. She was also very helpful with planning our day at the wineries and touring the villages.
Before we left we booked a return in May. We live on Long Island and this makes it easy for us to have a romantic getaway anytime. We highly recommend A Victorian on the Bay.

Room Tip: All rooms have same basic features so if you choose a room or a suite, you will be happy.

The swimming pool was the highlight. The layout of room was nice but it was not fresh. Old TV, old fridge that didn't work and plastic flowers... Although it is announced as a bed and breakfast, as many reviewer said, we also only got a low quality pancake without anything on it. I asked for a boiled egg, the owner refused and told me that it takes too much time to make it. We only had coffee, but it was not very good and was cold. The price is extremely high without any justification. The owner pretend to offer a lot, but even asking for a glass of water seems too much. She defiantly needs to be more accommodating if she wants to stay in business.

The good: well kept inn, clean, nice views of bay. Pool was clean and well-maintained, but unheated as far as we could tell.
The bad: inflexible innkeeper. We spent most of our time cycling in the Hamptons and were not interested in waiting around for the relatively-late coffee and breakfast in the morning. When booking we negotiated a coffee maker and refrigerator – especially since we were staying for a few days – but it was like pulling teeth to get this concession. The proffered breakfast was always pancakes or French toast, which my wife does not eat, and since we didn’t intend to dine in, we asked for alternatives such as hard boiled eggs or bagels to take on the road instead. Not a chance – even on the two days when we were the only guests. Would have gotten 4 or 5 rating overall if she had been more accommodating.
Hot tub was very small, a little balky and not very hot.
Location: Eastport is not quite the Hamptons and dining choices are limited, but there is fine dining just down the block, some good pizza in town and Westhampton is only 5 miles away.

There aren't many nice places to stay around Westhampton/Quogue, and this house is quite nice. The location near the water is pretty and the restaurant across the street, Trumpets, is overpriced but fine, with a fabulous view of the water. The Victorian on the Bay has a small number of rooms, which makes it feel as if you're staying a a friend's house. The breakfasts are a set menu, and if you don't want what's offered, tough luck. The rooms are a bit kitschy, like many B+Bs, but they are spacious and the bathrooms are fine. The owner is friendly, but not particularly flexible. Her staff is helpful.

I have been coming to A Victorian On The Bay in Eastport for the past 5 years. I have never had anything but a marvelous experience. Rosemary does an incredible job of hosting, including breakfast every morning, most days outside on the porch if the weather cooperates. The Inn is located directly across the Bay from Dune Road in Westhampton Beach, a mere 5 minutes away. The Inn is spectacularly located with only 5 Suites available and each one unique in its character and presentation. The entire Inn is designed in line with Feng Shui and is meticulously clean, with a complete workout room, pool, jaccuzzi and gazebo if you simply want to sit outside and enjoy the day. Breakfast each day is different and quite delicious and the Inn employs college students from different countries around the world as a part of their experience in the hospitality industry.

Apart from the obvious spectacular views from each suite, there are a plethora of fantastic activities and a tremendous array of restaurants available withing 2 to 15 minutes, including Trumpets across the street, as well as several wineries within a short distance on both the north and south shore of eastern Long Island. The Inn provides a list of activites, events, etc., depending on the time of the year that you visit. There is also an oversized rear porch and the living room/den area is furnished with videos, DVDs and a broad array of books and magazines. The Inn is located near 3 different golf courses and also the next town east of East Moriches, where an addition to the park has been created with a monument to TWA Flight 800. The Inn also has a fireplace in each suite as well as complete soundproofing for not only a fantastic night's sleep but complete privacy at all times. Rosemary and her staff are there to provide any special items or needs that you may want and are completely gracious hosts.

The web site for this Inn is: www.victorianonthebay.com

I encourage anyone reading this review to visit the website so that they might see firsthand what a fantastic facility this is and what a spectacular location as well. I would highly recommend A Victorian On The Bay to anyone looking to spend a completely relaxing and carefree weekend or vacation at a fabulous resort.

Room Tip: Sunset Suite is my personal favorite, but all 5 Suites are remarkable and completely different, espe...

This was our first time stay at a B&B and we were so happy once we left. From walking in the door to the tour we felt right at home at Rosemary's. We were so comfortable in our room along with our semi-private balcony that faced the marina. The view was so nice. The room was very clean. I don't know what the other reviews are referring to as we had no problems in this place. They were so accommodating to us. Rosemary and her son helped us to find local restaurants as well as stores for basic needs with really great directions.

Breakfast was very good. We didn't know what to expect as it was our first time but we fell in love with the idea of a B&B. The first morning we had an egg bake dish served with potatoes that were so good. The second breakfast was even better. We had raisin bread french toast. They even made extra when my boyfriend wanted more. They were so happy to cook extra with the word no not being an option. We also were given this amazing apple dish on the side.

We will definitely be back during the "in season". It rained the first two days of our stay. But the air jet bath completed the trip. It was amazing for a relaxing night. We will be back very soon!
