We booked this hotel for a layover on our way to our final destination. It was very cheap and now I know why. It was an adequate place to stay, our room was okay. Not great but okay. The breakfast was a plus and the staff was wonderful.

In town for the football game - and it happened to be family weekend at SU. Which means pricey hotels. This hotel wanted $179 online, but ended up with it through a hotwire blind purchase at $87 a night.
Room is small - no built in closet, just a small wardrobe upright. Double beds - not queens. They do have LCD TVs, and a comfy reading chair with table, and a built in night light in bathroom was a nice touch.
Cleanliness was okay - but there was some mold in the shower due to having no exhaust fan. Heat/AC unit does not have an "always on" fan setting, so no white noise from there if you're used to that.
Breakfast better than average with eggs/sausage/waffles, and the usual continental stuff, along with apples/bananas/oranges.
All in all, not bad, but if I have to spend more than $87, it's getting pretty pricey!

Dear pbwhite

Thank you for taking time out of your day to send us a review. And I am sure you enjoyed the football game since we are located only a short distance from the Carrier Dome. We are glad that you liked our superior continental breakfast. The fresh waffles are always a hit with our guest as well as the fresh fruit and yoghurt selection.
We hope to be able to welcome you again soon here at the only Baymont Inn and Suites in New York State.

We stopped here on our way through Syracuse as part of a 22 day road trip with friends. It is on a large cul-de-sac with a multitude of other hotels, and frankly, it was the only one we found available. The desk clerk was outside smoking when we arrived, but came in to check us in. When we got into our room, if was evident that it had been used and not been cleaned. There was a Styrofoam cup half-filled with coffee, and the pillows were rumpled and had hair on them. The towels had not been used, and the bed didn't actually look like it had been slept in - perhaps the staff used it to catch a quick nap! They did move us to another room, which was just OK. The carpets and furniture were very run down but at least it was clean (we hoped). I guess for $75 a night, you get what you pay for!

Perfectly clean and roomy. The staff was friendly. Breakfast more than adequate.Only problem was that back door was stuck. Staff worked on ;the problem and finally showed us that the way y ou approach the door dictates whether it will open or not.
