This hotel is very clean and the staff is very friendly. The rooms are spacious and the beds very comfortable. The free breakfast in the morning has a good variety of hot and cold foods and is very good.

I stayed in the area for a family function and always try to stay at hotel with an indoor pool, free breakfast, and suites as I travel with two children. This hotel was typical and average. I have no complaints really. The breakfast was typical to what you see at most "free breakfast" hotels. The pool was a bit small. And the suites weren't really suites, but larger hotel rooms that were divided by a 1/2 wall. The place was clean and it was uneventlful. I'm only giving an average rating because it was satisfactory but really average. The cost of the room was NOT in line with the quality of the service. I've stayed in downtown Boston in a similar size suite for the same price as I stayed at this property, and clearly not the same type of experience.

Made college visit to the hill and Syracuse U with my daughter. Hotel was 7 mile and short distance away from the university . Its in the carrier circle/East Syracuse area. Its also very close to LeMoyne college a well. Idea location near interstates, airport and all area around Syracuse. Staff is very helpful, free parking, rooms are new and very spacious. Hotel was quite but you can hear others thought out the hotel when walking about. This is ideal for families given the small pool and workout room. Will definitely return when in area. There are several other hotels near by as well. Go Orange !!!

Room Tip: Any side of hotel is fine and choose 3rd or 4th floor.

Clean, spacious &comfortable. 10 minute drive to campus. Simple hot &cold breakfast buffet. Pool & small gym. Nice sitting area with small pullout couch, fridge, desk separated by partial wall to double beds in room. Best all around value with comfort & convenience for parents and families visiting the SU area.

We stayed here for 6 nights over the holidays so we didn't have to stay on the pullout couch at our family's house. We will definitely come back on return visits - this is a nice facility.

The staff was very helpful and not difficult to find (even on Christmas day). There was also a small business center just off the front desk and front door - two computers with an iBahn set up. While we were there, they were barely used, but with our own computers (and wireless in the rooms), we didn't really need them except to print out boarding passes, since SYR does not have the equipment necessary to read electronic boarding passes.

We actually liked the location of this facility. Off of Carrier Circle, it was relatively close to - but not on top of - the airport, easy to access from the Thruway (where it's only a single exit from 81), but far enough away that you didn't have the background noise of car traffic or plane takeoff/landings. If you know the area, you can easily take Thompson (where the Dunkin Donuts is) to Molloy to 11/S. Bay to get to the airport, and bypass the Thruway completely.

We had a Studio King room on the 4th/top floor, almost at the end of the hallway. The room was clean, the thermostat digital and right by the door so it was easy to find, the bed was very comfortable, and there was plenty of space in the room for two adults to maneuver. We never ever felt cramped during our stay.

There was the normal work desk (with plenty of plugs), but also a small work table that could easily be dragged over to the couch if you preferred to work or eat there. Plugs to one side of the couch meant a laptop or other electronics could easily be plugged in to use while on the couch. A nice little rolling ottoman provided seating or a footrest. I didn't inspect the kitchen area deeply, but there is a small microwave available, a pantry cabinet, and a medium-sized refrigerator.

The bathroom was split - a sink with a nice shelf over the top to one side, and then the toilet and shower to the other. There was plenty of room for one person to use the sink and still get in and out of the toilet/tub area. And the toilet/tub area also gave you enough room that you didn't feel cramped (sometimes a problem at the Fairfield Inns, which I also generally like).

There's a modern flat-screen TV on a swivel base that autotunes to a 24 hour local news station when you turn it on (instead of some sort of information-light Marriott channel). It is easily viewable from the couch/desk area or from the bed.

There are nice lights above the bed headboard that actually have a dimmer - a nice touch and they provide much light in the room. It is multiply switched - one on the wall, one by the left side nightstand which is also nice - easy to turn on when you get in the room, easy to turn off from the bed. They also have an alarm clock which fits your iPod/iPhone - nice for playing your music or any white noise MP3's you may want to listen to. There was also a plug on the wall on the right side of the bed in our room, so if you wanted to plug something in near the bed (like, say, a heating pad I need to use on an injury I have right now), you weren't questing for a plug - I always appreciate that.

Some little things needed addressing, though. Having once gotten a norovirus from a hotel room, I'm pretty careful to use disinfecting wipes on commonly touched surfaces like light switches, the phone and remote, and various handles in hotels these days. Most hotel rooms that are this clean don't usually result in these areas being dirty, but some were visibly dirty (notably the dimmer switch for the headboard lights), so I definitely felt better wiping them down.

Also, in this Spring Hill - and a different one we stayed at the night before our trip - we noticed that these facilities have NO traditional dressers and almost no drawers whatsoever. The TV is on a stand that has a large cubby/shelf and a very small drawer underneath. You are also provided with a few shallow shelves in the nightstands that provide almost no room at all. For a quick overnight this isn't a problem - for six nights, my husband and I had to figure out where to put our many folded items like t-shirts, socks and underwear, and hung more clothes than we normally would (like our jeans). We ended up using one of the shelves in the kitchen cabinet area to put away some items.

If there was a safe in the room (yeah, they're not overly secure in reality, but at least they keep things out of sight), I didn't find it. Again, for a residential suite hotel, this seemed unusual. You can apparently deposit things at the front desk, but if you want to run out for an afternoon and leave an iPad or a watch or whatever in the room without bothering with the front desk, there's just no good place to do so. (Doubly felt without the presence of a drawer.)

As per usual with Marriotts these days, there is no vending in the hotel - you have to go to the little overpriced area and buy from the front desk. Find a local grocery store and stock up on waters and/or snacks if you're planning on an extended stay.

I did find it unusual in a nearly empty hotel that we ended up with a very noisy room neighbor one night. I understand it's easier for logistics if you group your guests in one wing, but it would seem to me that with only 10 cars in the parking lot, you could leave some space between rooms for additional privacy. Maybe it was a room-type issue, but it still seemed odd.

Overall, though, this is a nice place to stay. Quiet, convenient to the airport and major roads without being on top of them, comfy bed, plenty of parking, very helpful and polite staff. There is also the ubiquitous Marriott breakfast bar - it doesn't really change much over a long stay, but for a quick English muffin or bagel it's fine. (The coffee area appears to be active all day, but we didn't investigate.) But there is a Dunkin Donuts on the opposite side of Carrier Circle for those who want a little variety ;)

Room Tip: 4th floor was generally quiet.

This hotel must be almost new - everything sparkles. The rooms are very well laid out, the beds are very comfortable, the breakfast service was very good, and the TV and internet above average. All in all, a very good value.
