For the third consecutive visit the staff messed up the order. Then the owner cops an attitude. Finally, he takes our credit card when we are paying and tries to keep it. Ugly people. Just an awful place. Avoid.

Every Sunday after church we have our brunch here. Food and service is always excellent. Highly recommended.

What can I say? Like any other diner. Good food, coffee is great. Service is ok and the location is good. Like I said, average.

We were out for the morning doing various tasks and decided to hate a late breakfast (11:30). It was mid-week and the Setauket Village Diner was too convenient to pass up. Fully expecting to have one of their cooked breakfasts with eggs and bacon, rye toast perhaps some hash, we decided on one of the luncheon specials instead. A marvelous pork Souvlaki with fresh vegetables over a pita bread. It was simple, well prepared and totally unexpected. I have had and prepared Souvlaki many times, this was among the best. The starter was a Manhattan style clam chowder (of course Manhattan style is not an actual chowder). It was filled with fresh vegetables and clams, lots of clams. It to was too was a surprise. If you find yourself in East Setauket and in need of a quick meal, I suggest you give the Diner a try. The food is only surpassed by the friendly and attentive waitstaff.
