“Good. Attentive service; generous portions”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 14, 2013

Warmly greeted; good menu. The food was on the bland side; plenty of it though. Parking is a bit awkward.
Service was friendly and attentive.
I had the Northside Pasta, a pasta dish with shrimp. Again..."okay"...

“Lots of tables, good service, quick seating, solid fare.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 10, 2013 via mobile

Enjoyed a weeknight out with the family, nice staff, quick service. Had the chicken Parmesan, which on my 1-5 scale would rate 3. The sauce was ok, the rotini was ok, the chicken was ok.
Salad was fair, the bread was fair. Overall, ok. I'd go back just for the quick, friendly service. Nice bar as well.

“Traditional Italian at it's best”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 8, 2013

We were in town on business and a group of eight decided we had to have Italian for dinner one evening. Where else better than in Rochester? We did not make a reservation but were sat quickly and received attentive service. The menu was extensive in all palletts and reasonably priced. The portians were well presented and overall the evening ended in great success. Will make a point to dine here again with our next trip into town.

“Great Service, Attractive Venue, So-So Food”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 11, 2013

Four of us dined with the Northside last Saturday, and found it much changed since last visit, a number of years ago. Some of the changes were positive: they will take your reservation, where they didn't formerly, the layout has changed significantly, as has the decor, to a more modern, better lighted, less crowded really pleasant ambiance. Teddy, our server, was an absolute gem. Friendly, upbeat, bubbling with enthusiasm, she was extremely attentive and quick on her feet, anticipating our every want and meeting most before they were expressed. The meals, as stated, were less than stellar. First the pluses: The Italian Bread was exceptional, and I am fussy about this; the salads were very good (a meal highlight) - the crumbly bleu (gorganzola) dressing was quite generous. However, the he Lobster Bisque tasted burnt....my wife's baked potato was cooked into oblivion, clearly some considerable time prior to being served, her pork chop was, though large, juicy, and tender, nearly void of distinguishing taste, though in fairness, the Honey-Mustard side sauce was a help....my Seafood Fra Diavolo was uninspired, fairly flat tasting - my reason for ordering it was a fond memory of having enjoyed the dish at Northside in the past, and the current effort did not live up to the prior one, being essentially a lot of red and green bell peppers, a couple of pepperoncini, some flat pasta, a dozen and a half mussels, a pair of medium shrimp, and a slab of reputed haddock (swai?), in a rather thin tomato sauce. This, to me, did not constitute Fra Diavolo, and though the seafood presented largely met the description on the menu, the flavors were pretty flat, particularly considering the anticipation of a rather spicy dish. This experience seemed to reflect about the same quality of food as across the street (Pellegrino's), but with nicer surroundings, better flatware/silverware, and a considerably higher tariff. The "Outdoor Seating" category below we could not evaluate well, it being Western NY in early March! All this said, I would go back. There were other dishes I would try, and though the pricing is not by any stretch reflecting a cheap meal, neither are they outrageous.

“Great service, very accomodating”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 6, 2013

We made reservations last minute go accommodate guests who had attended our mother's funeral. The management worked with us to accommodate a group of people last minute and offered a wonderful buffet for us at reasonable prices. We were very pleased with the variety and wonderful food. The service was great and we will be going back quite frequently to Northside Inn...we highly recommend them!
