Heaven on Earth. I couldn't fault this holiday even if I wanted to. I went with my partner last month and had the most relaxing and romantic holiday yet. No Chav's and screaming kids, which has to be a bonus. Kurumba's staff ticked all the boxes, the customer service was second to none and the food was easily Michelin star level. When it comes to holiday's my partner and I have peaked. It's going to be hard booking anywhere else, that's if we do. For a romantic, relaxing, and de stressing holiday, Kurumba is a must.

Pros: The cheapest (but nice) room we could book in the Maldives (which cost an arm and leg). The food is fabulous, and the dine around premium plan worked out nicely. AMAZING desserts. The desserts in the italian restaurant were some of the best OF MY LIFE (example - valrhona chocolate mousse with a house-made crispy shell, fruit caviar - yes - and a raspberry sorbet, also house made. to die for. also the pannacotta so delicious. and coconut cake.) Lots of good restaurants and the buffet is actually quite high quality. rooms are spacious. The internet was - gasp - FREE for our stay!! (We plugged in, and there it was: complimentary 7 days. Hooray). The transfer to airport is seamless and quick. Very family friendly and seamless for families. The resort entertains a large russian population so it's great if you speak russian, everything is translated and accessible.

Cons: You get what you pay for. Bathrooms are NOT a/c. Nor are lunch and breakfast restaurants. SO HOT. Major cons with rooms 110-130ish (low level rooms, naturally). These are parked right in front of their ugly, ugly boat dock. Get this, the beach seating is "assigned." You head outside and realize the chairs are labeled with room numbers. TOTALLY distressing. Naturally if you don't pay the huge premium for a nice room, you get a totally bum beach spot, and if you do pay a premium for a nice room, you'll somtimes find guests from other parts of the resort camped out on your seats. I mean talk about unnecessary stress. Other con. You fly all the way to the maldives for these views? Half of the island has a lovely view of the airport, city, and smokestacks. so sad. The water sports place is no good. As another reviewer mentioned, the 830-530 snorkeling gear policy is SO ANNOYING. Why not just check out the fins for your stay? I mean come on. The 'private snorkeling excursion' they offered was awful - the guide was texting while speedboating, gave us 15 minutes to snorkel, then raced us back for the next customer (profit). No real interest in showing us anything or making sure we had a good experience. This resort is not for yuppies or DINKs looking for fabulousness or exclusivity. It's a place to go when you can just barely afford to go to the maldives but can't really afford... one and only. Or, it's the place to go for good food in the maldives (which i hear is scarce otherwise).

We stayed here for 2 nights, our stay was amaxing. Initially we faced little issue with our room, but staff helped us to sort it out.
They have very good activities like snorkeling tutor, snorkeling guided tour and many more.. based on your interest and preferences you can enjoy them for free.
Corals and sea life near this resort is so beautiful, we saw octopus, so many beautiful fishes... amazing experience.
They also have so many food options, which is very rare in Maldives( comparing our previous resort). its also not that expensive.....
They claim that this is first established island in Maldives...
Highly recommended.... :)

From the moment we arrived on the island we knew that our stay would be perfect. The staff were friendly, professional & very organised, everything was ready for us. Our bungalow, although not directly on the beach as we thought, was just 50 paces back under the palm trees and perfectly sited for peace & quiet. The beach was just what you would expect on a tropical island and the lagoon was crystal clear with fish swimming within feet of the water's edge. The staff were impeccably polite at all times, our room was cleaned twice daily, and the outside shower was heavenly. The main restaurant served a bewildering array of food at breakfast and the Chinese & Indian restaurants were particularly good if a little expensive. We could not find a single thing to fault during our stay and we have travelled extensively around the world. We would definitely go back.
