“Nice Park, High Entry Fee”
Reviewed June 2, 2014

Since I was not a resident of Nassau County, I was charged a $10 entry fee which I thought was unfair and too expensive. I'm not against a fee, but it shouldn't have cost as much as a movie ticket. After all, I do live in-state. Other than that, the park was beautiful, spacious, well-maintained, family-friendly, perfect for bicycling, walking, picnicking, etc. Security on premises.

“Aquatic center had cockroaches everywhere”
Reviewed July 24, 2013

I was at Eisenhower parks aquatic center this past weekend for a swim meet as a spectator and in the hour and a half I was there I killed 4 cockroaches in the stands and 2 in the bathroom. Place needs to be cleaned and or finally shut down to redo the building as they are suppose to be. Absolutely disgusting.

“An excellent facility in Nassau county”
Reviewed June 6, 2013

Well maintained nice size park with a large indoor swimming facility, 16 (hard) tennis courts (rather reasonable fee), three full golf courses (2 are suitable for those rather new to the sport and 1 is a medium challenge.) There are some softball and baseball diamonds. There is construction going on there now; I believe some baseball facilities are being converted to soccer fields. There is an attractive miniature golf course. The park is attractive for those who wish to stroll, picnic (fire pits are scattered throughout much of the park), bicycle (casual), or just enjoy the outdoors, a well designed children's play area, and an outdoor basketball court.

During the summer there are excellent concerts on the band shell. There is a memorial area with tributes to veterans, 911 victims, fallen warriors, (this alone worth the trip) and others.

What would give this park 5 circles? 4 clay tennis courts, outdoor swim facility, 1 challenging golf course,

“Eisenhower Park has it all!”
Reviewed May 2, 2013

This is a wonderful easy to park at place, offering free concerts, movies, and other outdoor events, big kiddy playground, as well as a large pond with ducks that you can walk around. Lots of room and paved roads and paths for safe bike riding and now a brand new Dog Run for your doggy enthusiasts to bring your canine companions. Outstanding miniature golf course that's also a beautiful oasis (waterways, flowers adorn the course), picnic areas, a horse stable, an olympic size pool at the Aquatic Center, and lots of grounds to take a leisurely or aerobic stroll. Some areas are wide open for frisbee or ball playing. Others have trees for shade and a few fascinating memorials to experience and reflect upon.

The 9-11 memorial is the latest added and is by the pond. An impressive fountain, fragments of the war torn skyscraper and names of Long Island victims are etched in stone for all to see and meditate upon. It's a thoughtfully laid out memorial and yes, it's free.

Adjacent to the building at the top of the hill is another meaningful memorial for veterans and victims of other wars. Walk around a bit and you'll see various tributes in sculpture and stone.
Give yourself some time so as not to rush through. Each smaller memorial defines struggles of people in different parts of the world that deserve our thoughts and prayers.

At the entrances to the park (at least on the west side opposite Stuart Ave.) are sign(s) detailing upcoming events and concerts. As well these may be listed on the web for reference purposes.

For those with bucks, there's a fancy restaurant with another huge parking lot. And for you golfers, a big golf course. I personally, for now at least, will stick with the miniature golf. Challenging enough!

Regarding fees, there is no entrance fee to the park, but some things are not free; pool, miniature golf, etc.

Thanks for reading!
