Attraction details
Owner description: Located in East Marion New York, Lavender by the Bay has been growing the highest quality lavender on Long Island for more than 15 years. We offer seasonal fresh cut bunches, dried lavender, lavender plants, lavender sachets and crafts, and honey from our own beehives. In 2002, we expanded our company by purchasing 17 acres of farmland in East Marion, New York. We have planted twenty varieties of lavender across ten acres of farmland, yielding over 80,000 plants for cultivation. In order to preserve the beauty, form, and peaceful nature of the farm, we must now impose a per person (12 years and older) fee to enter the fields while the flowers are in bloom. This fee goes towards the upkeep and maintenance of the plants, trails, and pavilion. The fee is $8 per person to enter the fields on weekends and national holidays, of which $1 will be donated to a local charity. During the week, the fee is reduced to $5 per person to encourage customers to enjoy the fields during less busy times. The lavender is typically in bloom mid/late June through mid-July, but is ultimately up to Mother Nature.

“Wish it were Summer!”
Reviewed November 2, 2013

Just discovered this adorable lavender farm during their last weekend opened ... will certainly have to return during the summer months when it is in full bloom! The owners were so friendly and pointed us to the back of the farm where the last of the lavender was being harvested. We purchased some wonderful lavender products ... it is my most favorite scent - so calming! A hidden gem!

“Lavender Anyone?”
Reviewed October 10, 2013

How often to you go to go to a Lavender Farm? Well now you can. In the heart of the North Fork, close to Greenport. Near the beach down the road from your bed and breakfast in East Marion you can find a quant little shop with lotions, perfumes, pound cake and of course Lavender! The smell alone is enough to draw you in. Stop in, you won't regret it. The color is so bright you spot it from down the road.

Reviewed September 6, 2013

This place is stunning and a beautiful sight to see, especially if you catch the height of the season. It is usually 2 weeks in july..but you can call and ask if the field is in full bloom ...They are very helpful and lovely there! When the field is in full bloom ...it is vivid PURPLE as far as the eye can see....a reallly gorgeous sight! Then stop by the little store and pick up many fantastic lavender goodies...my favorite lavcender Honey........ dont miss it!

“Magical North Fork excursion. Good bike ride from your Greenport hotel.”
Reviewed August 31, 2013

This was a top recommendation from The Greenporter Hotel for top cycling excursions at 8 miles round trip. Beautiful lavender beds, original gifts including sachets and oils and you can buy you own plants to try growing yourself.
